I went tonight, too, with my list for doubling all planned out...was completely disgusted to see the signs up that as of Jan 1st, they were discontinuing doubles. I complained to the store manager, who apologized, stating they, too, had just found out 2-3 days ago. TWO to THREE DAYS AGO???? I told her the sign was a misrepresentation in that case, and I said even if they put the signs out 2-3 days ago, the ppl planning doubles trips for TODAY would not have been in the store 2-3 days ago to see the notice! She encouraged me to call their corporate office, but said doubles days were never meant to be permanent. I told her I understood that, but they needed to do a better job of making the notice...at least 2-3 weeks, not days! I also told her that I had contacted their corporate office via e-mail when doubles were cut down to monthly--shared with her their response of, "Sorry, but we hope our new discounts will make up for the lack of doubles"; and I told her in my opinion, they have failed miserably at that. I told her that I network with a lot of ppl who look very much forward to double days, and told her that those ppl and myself would no longer be shopping at Copps because of this.

I tried getting on their website to e-mail them again--keep getting an Internal Service Error message... GRRRR!!!!

I am looking into hosting the letter at Petitiononline.com that way many people can submit it directly from there without spending money on a stamp. Of course I will ask for your input.

yep i too am TICKED i am sick as a dog so DH went out for me ARMED with the coupons, and he got to the register..............and they said NOPE NO GO for the doubleing, it ended two days ago. Ok tell me HOW that makes sense since it says WEDNESDAYS??? WTH??

I sent an e-mail yesterday:

I want to express my extreme disappointment in the lack of notification to the customers of your stores that the double coupon promotion was ending. I went to Copps yesterday specifically to take advantage of this great promotion, only to find signs stating that "As of January 1, 2008, Double Daze has ended". I made a complaint to the manager of the store, who apologized, stating they, too, had just found out a few days beforehand. Why does the sign say "January 1st" when the notices were not put up in stores until January 27 or 28?? And how would you expect the people waiting until Wednesday to do their shopping to know this? I think this is a serious disrespect and disservice to your "valued" customers. I cut my shopping order at least in half seeing that this promotion had ended, and I will be hard pressed to enter any Copps store again. I contacted you originally when Double Daze was cut down from weekly to monthly, and was told then that the new promotions were intended to make up for the decrease. In my opinion, you have failed miserably in doing this.

Thank you for your time, but you have lost a customer due to your lack of consideration for the people who should matter to you.


I'm curious now to see if I get the same canned response!
