At the PNS I was at today (Murdock/Jackson in Oshkosh), the Wishbone dressings & Wishbone Bountifuls are programmed into the system as being 1.49 as the normal price this week (not a sale price), so if you have a 1/1Q (I had these for the Bountifuls), they only will double up to 1.49, not 2.00. I hope that PNS didn't do this on purpose because of double coupons...
I didn't know this until I checked out and I already had my 2 transactions planned out just right, so I didn't have other coupons to double instead (my others were over $1 so they wouldn't double), but had I known before hand, I would have made a different plan.
I also bought the Dove deodorant, Degree deodorant, Dove haircare (hairspray), Q-tips, and Lipton-Knorr Pasta Sides, Promise spread, and I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spread, and all of these came up as sale prices, so the coupons could double to their full amount. It seems like it was just the Wishbone dressings that were programmed like this.
Anyway, hopefully this info can help someone plan ahead. |

| Re: Pick N Save - Unilever 8/2/09-8/12/09 Eeks. I don't buy that many bottles of salad dressings, so I had no idea how much they were normally..
But according that that PnS ad, they were listed as 2 for 2.98 (which means they're 1.49 per bottle?) so I guess the price listed weren't exactly sale prices to begin with? From 8/2 RP, there is a $1 off 2 bottles. Which means, after double coupons, they'll be 98 cents per bottle, makes them 49 cents each..
You know, I never knew about how they handle overage after double coupon, and I think your post just answered my (technically never asked) question.

You know, I never knew about how they handle overage after double coupon, and I think your post just answered my (technically never asked) question. | I'm sorry, my post was a little confusing - I don't want to steer you away from buying the dressing if you were going to! I bought 3 WB Bountifuls and 6 regular Wishbone Dressings because it was such a good deal, even though the (3) 1/1 Qs I used didn't double to the full amount.
The price of the salad dressings listed in the ad really is a sale price (I think normally they are about 2.49 or 2.99 each), so it is a really good deal, especially with the 5/15 or 7/20 OYNO deal, and at my store you get a free 12 oz. Fresh Express Garden Salad for every 2 Wishbone/Western dressings you buy (I got 4 free total).
It's just that the way the dressings rang up at the registers (which is not normal for PNS) didn't allow 1/1 Qs to double to 2, only to 1.49. I'm not sure how it works with 1/2 Qs, I'd assume they would have doubled to 2.
I hope that makes a little more sense. |

.. too bad I don't think such a deal exists at my store.

Here is a way to find out whether you receive your RedPlum (and P&G) via home mailer or find in the local paper: RedPlum: Where can you find your RedPlum Coupon Book?
I'm not sure Wausau or Greenbay area, but I know most stores in Milwaukee does carry some Chicago-based papers (at least I know I can find Chicago Tribune from drugstores nearby), that may be the next best option. They're slighly more expensive than MJS (though that could be b/c MJS is my 'local' paper?) but they'll have both RP and SS and is from a large city. That's another option I'd suggest for you to look, if they're available. |
Thanks! I will be on the lookout for the Chicago Tribune. I'm not sure we get that here in Wausau but that seems to be the best option. That really stinks that you can only get one insert since it comes through the mail. |

| Re: Pick N Save - Unilever 8/2/09-8/12/09 Ok, so apparently buy 2 salad dressing, get a bag of salad thing is going on at my PnS too. The problem? By the time I got there, this particular bag of salad was WIPED OUT! I didn't really ask for a raincheck (maybe I should have) because I really wasn't planning on getting it anyways. But I think the deal may be going on for longer, I do not know exact end date of the free salad promo, but it's at least til the end of the week, if not til next week. May want to double check.
ETA: I think there is more "bonus" deals attached to some of these products is being advertised for upcoming week (starting tomorrow 8/5) Hellmann’s Mayonnaise @ 2/$6, Buy 2 and get a free loaf of Roundy’s Bread
-$.60/2 hellmann's from 8/2 RP (doubled 1.20 = 2.40 each, plus free bread)
Wish-Bone or Western Salad Dressing @ 2/$2.98, Buy 2 get a free Fresh Express Garden Salad
-$1.00/2 from 8/2 RP (doubled 2.00 = .98 each, plus free salad) Ragu Pasta Sauce @ 2/$4**, Buy 2 get a free Roundy’s Pasta
-$.75/2 from 8/2 RP (doubled 1.50 = 1.25 each, plus free pasta)
** according to Frugal Gossip, Ragu pasta sauce are 1.85 each, however, it could be just a regional difference in prices and/or maybe they're just better price this upcoming week. I have no idea and won't know for sure (at least for my store) until I receive the flyer. Usually I get them on Wednesdays but for some reason, I haven't received it yet. Maybe tomorrow. |
