| Roundy's Personal Perks 1/24-4/17/10 Wondering what the new thing about OYNOs on the bottom of the receipt is? Here is the new program with the Roundy's Rewards Cards (info. from weekly print ad):
It's Personal Perks Time! Weekly discounts personalized to you.
Save on everything you buy - and we mean everything!* All you have to do is meet your weekly Personal Perks goal!
January 24, 2010 through April 17, 2010
It's easy! By using your Roundy's Rewards Card we keep track of your purchases so you don't have to!
Step 1: Use your New Roundy's Rewards Card every time you shop!
Step 2: Be sure to share your email and watch your inbox and register receipt for your weekly Personal Perks spending goal!
Step 3: Track your progress online at www. roundysrewards .com and on your register receipt.
Step 4: Reach your weekly spending goal and receive your weekly Personal Perks automatic discount to use on your next shopping trip!
(ad shows an example of what the receipt looks like)
Fine print: One Personal Perks earned for meeting household weekly spending goal. Household purchases are cumulative per week. Household spend goal is unique to each household and Roundy's Rewards Cards are householded automatically. Qualified purchases exclude Pick 'n Save & Copps gift cards, alcohol, tobacco, pharmacy, Subway, LeeAnn Chin, Sushi, bus passes, gasoline, money orders, lottery, stamps, Coinstar, Photo Kiosks, and all tickets and passes. The amount of any doubled coupons will also be excluded. The amount of qualified purchases is calculated before sales tax and after store discounts. Roundy's Rewards Card needed to earn and redeem Personal Perks. Personal Perks are not transferrable from one household to another. Personal Perks will apply automatically to next day's shopping trip and will expire one week after earning period. Valid only at participating Pick 'n Save & Copps in Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, Appleton, Neenah, Kimberly, & Green Bay. See store for complete details.
-----
I bolded the part about double coupons, tax, and expiration - it was not in bold in the ad.
It seems like the total before coupons applies to the household spending total (minus the store discount portion of a doubled coupon).
I'd assume the promotion is similar in other areas, but this is what was printed in my ad. I also got an email with my weekly goal, mine for this week is spend $20, get $1 OYNO (we don't spend much each week...).

So I'm not sure if it's tracking right or not, but it appears that it is tracking what you spent after instore sales but not after coupons. | That's how mine is too, it says I spent $49.71, even though my OOP was $11.89 (after tax). |

This week my spending limit did drop $30 from last week, but I still didn't spend enough to get the reward. Again this week my reciept show me as having met the goal, but after Qs I'm under. I wish it would just track my spending correctly - I was only $3 away from reaching the reward this week but didn't know that until I got home and added up my reciepts myself since the totals on the bottom of the reciept are so off. | It is supposed to be that the before Q amount counts toward your total, minus the doubled Q amount - for example if you bought $25 worth of merchandise, used (5) 1/1 Qs that all doubled, you'd have an OOP of $15. However, $20 should count toward your spending total (doesn't include the $5 of the "doubled" portion of the coupons). The total on the bottom of the receipt (at least on mine) does not reflect this deduction of the "doubled" portion, so it may say I spent 25.00, when really only 20.00 counted toward the total because $5 was the doubled part.
One thing you may want to check is if you are doing multiple transactions, your personal perks reward may have come off on one of your other transactions before you realized you met the spending goal. I did three transactions this week and two last week. My spending goal each week has been $20.00. Both times on the second transaction, I scanned my rewards card first then rang up two items, once my total was over $1, the $1.00 was automatically deducted on the screen.
The first week it appeared under "Misc" on the receipt and said "Coupon Eme Trgt Coupon 1.00-F". This week it appeared under "Dairy" on the receipt and said "Coupon Personal Perks 1.00-F". I would recheck your receipts (if you did multiple transactions) to see if it may have come off somewhere in there. The receipts continue to show your total spending and goal even after you've earned the reward and redeemed it already for that week, and you only can get the reward once per week even if you meet your goal several times.
If you still did not get your reward, I would stop at the service counter and see what is going on. According to the fine print on the offer, you should be getting the perks if you meet your spending goal before coupons and tax but minus the doubled portion of the coupons, if that makes sense. |

Thank you for the more detailed explanation - I did look back at my reciepts again, and my reward that I would have earned last week is definitely not on there (it was for $4.50, and there is nothing taking off that amount). But now that I understand that regular coupon savings are okay and just the doubled amount does not count, maybe I didn't quite reach the reward level last week.
The bottom of my reciepts shows what I spent before ANY coupons are deducted. For example, my first transaction today was originally $29.47 before any coupons and after store sales, I doubled 5 $1 and used one .75 coupon, my total oop was 18.72. The bottom of my recipet shows that I spent $29.47. It is not taking off any of the coupon values - regular or doubled.
I didn't keep the reciepts from last week, but my reward level was to reach $90 to get the $4.50 off this weeks transaction, and the spending at the bottom of the reciept said I spent $132. I actually speent $41 oop, but I had $92 in coupons, about $40 of which would have been the doubled value (did 4 transactions with mostly $1 Qs) so I would have been pretty close to the $90 mark if not over it (I don't know how much was tax, I did buy some HBA items). So, I don't know...I'm not going to make a fuss this week, but I'll definitely watch it for next week.
At this point I should have made the Goal for this week (I think?) - my goal for the week was $60 to get $3.00 off next week. The bottom of my recipt shows me as having spent $93.47, I actually spent $57.47 oop, and had $36 in Qs, $14.75 of that was the doubled value. So that should put me over the $60 if it's only the doubled value that doesn't count. I'll guess I'll see next week if it works!
Maybe I have to set up another spreadsheet to figure this out!! |

Sometimes I forget and then I don't get it. Lately, the few times I've gone through a regular check-out line, I've had to remind the cashier that I brought my own bags, otherwise they do not give me the credit. I'm not sure, but it seems that they may have been told to not give the credit automatically and give it only if the customer says something about it. Hopefully they don't do away with the bag credit completely - Festival has been doing it all along even for paper bags and now Target does it too, I don't see how Pick 'n Save/Copps could stop unless the competitors do also.
I've started writing "BAG CREDIT" in large letters at the bottom of my shopping list so it's not as likely I will forget about it! |

| Re: Copps/PickNSave: Roundy's Personal Perks 01/24/10-04/17/10 Another thing to keep in mind is that the spending totals and perks are combined by household (according to the fine print) and I think the spending goal is somewhat based on how many cards are in the household along with past spending trends. I believe the system is set up to combine all the card numbers at the same address into one "household". I'm not sure if the spending total at the bottom of the receipt reflects this or not, it may just show the total for your specific card. If you were to earn the perk reward on say Wednesday and then a family member were to stop at the store on Friday and buy even just one item (if the total is higher than the perk amount), the perk may be applied to their order, even though it is a different card. I'm not sure if this is exactly how it works, but that is my understanding of the fine print. I don't know if this could be one of the issues occurring or not, just one thing to look at. |
