Can someone please help me with the GM deal? 3/25/09

I want to do the GM cereal on Wed. I'll be buying 6 boxes to get the $10 off and a free milk catalina.

The reason that I need help is that I have a catalina for $2/any 5 GM cereals. If I use the catalina, does that mean that I can really only use one other Q? (Catalina towards 5 boxes + man. Q for the 6th box). Am I making any sense here at all? :shrug7: Because if that's the case, it doesn't make sense to use it - it can't be doubled and so it's really only worth 0.40 off for 5 boxes. I'd be better off doubling my 0.75/1 or 0.50/1.

All my higher value GM coupons are DND printables which doesn't help either.


If you don't mind sharing how you will work your deal, I'd appreciate it.

Hi i am a cashier at a copps and i have noticed that most of the coupons that say dnd still do double. of course there are a few that do not. there is no reason why you cant give the cashier one and see if it doubles they can always void it.

Little Red Hen, you are correct that the catalina will be good for the 5 boxes, and then you will not be able to use another q on those 5 boxes.

What I plan on doing - I had DH stop and price check for me today - he said I can get kinds that we like for between 3.09 and 3.59 per box -

3.09*6 boxes = 18.54
-10 store discount = 8.54
(2) 1/3 GM insert q's (doubled) -4.00
-------------------------------
4.54 or around .76 per box.
It's the best q I have right now, so it will have to do for me :) we are low on cereal, I can't believe it! And we want to have a little extra to give for the boy scouts food drive this weekend.

ETA: If you have 6 of those .75/1 q's, you could work the deal really well for yourself 18.54 - 10.00 store discount = 8.54
(5) .75/1 doubled = - 7.50
(1) .75 (over limit, so it won't double) -.75

At my Copps, catalina is considered manufacturer coupon, so yes...you can only use (1) catalina for $2 off 5 and (1) other manufacturer coupon for the sixth box that you buy...I asked about this at the Customer Service desk and that's what they said..that catalina is considered manufacturer coupon unless the catalina stated otherwise...

I'm not doing this deal this week, still have too many cereal, but if I'd do it I'll use (6) manufacturer coupons $1 or under so you still get them double...the $2 value one won't double at all....

Thanks for the advice. All of you confirmed what I thought about the catalina. It doesn't pay to use it.

I think my .75/1 q's are for Chex. I hope Chex are included on the deal.

Does any one know what cereals are included? and maybe the prices?

Almost all cereals were included, with a couple of exclusions. I don't have my flyer anymore, but count chocula, little einstiens, disney cereal were included. The "novelty" cereal for the most part. I have found in past venturings (I am doing Kelloggs this week because, 7 boxes will fetch me 3 milk cats) that the cereal boxes run about $3.29-$3.79 and the more nutritious varietys $3.99-$4.25.

remember to get double total must be $25. I was able to double 3 $1/1 from the eatbetteramerica home mailer, and then used 2 ken's dressings as 'fillers' as my cereal added up to 21.XX. used 3 more .75 q's for the chex and total was $3.30 and a $3.50 cat printed!! I as so excited it ended way better than I thought it would. Then, when I went to use the milk cat at the next, it took off the whole 3.50 so overage!!!
