yes, you can use more coupons
Ok, I used to be a Copps only shopper, then I switched to Woodman's to save money (except for produce and some meat). Now I'm considering doing the double daze at Copps on Wed. Does anyone shop both places and have advice?
The problem with Woodman's is they don't run ads so you don't know what the deals are ahead of time, but they are cheaper overall (but you have to fight the crowds)
I understand Copps doubles coupoons up to and include $1 on Wed (limit 5). Can you use more coupons after 5, but they just don't get doubled?
Thanks,
Kari

Okay, here's a subject I would be glad to chime in on. I do the same thing. I can't stand Pick any more, so I go for double days and hot deals. The rest, I do at Woodman's. And sure, I have a little advice for woodmans'.
1. Check the right hand side of the produce department. At my store there are sometimes "new" items offered at lower prices for a week or so. Also, really do your checking with the produce there, I have found prices to be competitive enough. And considering the fact that the produce at most of my local Pick N Saves spoils so quickly, it is worth the extra few cents to have the item last a whole week or two, KWIM?
2. Those items that may be a seasonal need, such as right now, baking goods (which I may have seen them resetting, sorry) but anyway, I noticed that they have special tags throughout the store that say something like seasonal markdown. I was able to get my Nestle chips on sale for 1.99 per 12 oz bag for an entire month, not just that magical week when pick decided that 1.98 was a good sale price. (yes, the chips totally matter for what I was making lol!) But there were other things too, like the canned milk was .93 regular for the whole month, as well as many other things. So, I thought that was really cool.
3. Watch those endcaps. I found some great things on sale the whole month in December. Betty Crocker Au Gratin potatoes .99 per box, some green olives - reglular jar can .99 --- and the EVOO that they have for 2.99 or 5.99 for the liter bottle is absolutely fantastic.
4. Woodman's is absolutely the most coupon friendly place I have ever bought groceries at, and when I get some odd q from across the selection, I always take it to Woodman's because there is a pretty good chance that I may see that product there with the huge selection available!
I don't dig the no sale ad thing either, but if that's what it takes to keep those prices low, well then I can deal with it.
That's all I have on woodmans right now. Back to Copps/ Pick
Yes, you will be allowed to use more q's in addition to those that you doubled.
I don't have much to say about them, lol!
woodmans is based on a edlp philosophy much like walmart. Meaning there isn't a middle man getting extra money. They negotiate with companys for the lowest possible price. Its a great store that treats their employees well!!! I love woodmans!!
I think pick or copps was great until chairman bob took over and now its ugh!
Thanks for the advice. I'll have to check out that right hand side of the produce for new items. The produce at Woodman's seems to be hit and miss. I'm ok with the prices usually, but sometimes the quality just isn't there.
I noticed the seasonal item tags in Dec at Woodman's too! I also picked up a ton of Progresso chicken broth. It was on sale 2/$4 and I bought a bunch of $1 off coupons. I'll have to watch for more things like that and post back here.
Thanks,
Kari
I switch back and forth between Copp's and Woodman's. Copp's is closer; Woodman's has better deals if you don't have coupons (although my store just started taking IP coupons).
Always on the lookout for Organic Valley milk coupons.
I usually go to woodman's once a month. Then I got to Copps, super target, or cub to get produce and milk as needed.
Woodman's has the best dairy prices. I get lots of my non perishable food at woodman's. I get my bread there too. They have 2 loaves bagged together at a great price.
I shop the other grocery stores for their sales. If woodman's were closer I would go there more than once a month.
