Default Chocolate Covered Cherries Baked into Cookie?

    This is my idea:

I bought a pouch of Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix and a box of the Chocolate Covered cherries.

My idea is to cut up the chocolate covered cherries and put them into the sugar cookie batter (like chocolate chips)

My husband doesn't think it will work - he thinks the gooey stuff from the middle will burn.

    Anyone try this before?

I have a Recipe for these somehwere but they are very hard to get to tusn out right. You have to make them then store them in a cool place not the frig for like 3 days..they are good

    60 maraschino cherries with stems
    3 tablespoons butter, softened
    3 tablespoons corn syru
    cups sifted confectioners' sugar
    1 pound chocolate confectioners' coating

Drain cherries and set on paper towels to dry.
In a medium bowl, combine butter and corn syrup until smooth. Stir in confectioners' sugar and knead to form a dough. Chill to stiffen if necessary. Wrap each cherry in about 1 teaspoon of dough. Chill until firm.
Melt confectioners' coating in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Dip each cherry in by its stem, and place on waxed paper lined sheets. Chill until completely set. Store in an airtight container in a cool place. Best after 1 or 2 weeks.

    What about something like this?

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies Recipe - Allrecipes.com
    ^^^ these are so awesome!!

Use the cookie dough mix but roll it into balls and place it in a mini muffin tin, then plunge the choco-cherry in right out of the oven. If the cherry candies are small enough, that will work just fine and nothing will burn!

I was thinking the same thing...but you could even do something like this:

    Recipe: Hershey Kiss Cookies

Instead of the Hershey Kisses, when you go to put the kisses in, put the chocolate covered cherries instead. I think those would be yummy! While they are still warm, sprinkle with colored sugar.

That first recipe sounds good - but I'm outta time to wait 3 days! Have to remember it for another time!!!

I hadn't thought about sticking them on top like the hershey kiss cookies. I may do that on some and go ahead and try baking some in and just see what happens!!
