Christmas English Toffee - rich, delicious! Perfect Holiday Gift or treat!!

English Toffee Candy Recipe - How to Make English Toffee

I used Hershey's reg chocolate bars & just poured It over the sheet of toffee, instead of dipping, then break It up. I use to make this about 6 yrs ago. I LOVE Heath bars & these are thinner & so rich, buttery, delicious!

Perfect for old tins & gift giving!!

CHEF Re: English Toffee - rich, delicious! Perfect Holiday Gift or treat!!

I never used a candy thermometer! I got the original recipe from some older man off of Food Network...I wrote It down & now I don't know what I did with It! The main ingrediants are butter, sugar & tiny bit of corn syrup....I stirred for about 40-45 min straight as It boiled!

    It was well worth It!

It just melts on your tongue.

Just try It. I've been trying to find this mans recipe for 4+ yrs on the internet! This is very close!

How easy is real butter, granulated sugar, Hershey's & crushed almonds?!

Thumbs Up Re: English Toffee - rich, delicious! Perfect Holiday Gift or treat!!

Do NOT cool this in the fridge. I don't care what the other recipes say (It'll build up condensation & won't set just rt)

Cool It on a rack overnight (you can cover with alum foil or wax or parchment paper & a dish towel) & then pour on & spread the melted chocolate, add nuts while choc is still melted. Let set another 4-6 hrs.

Make sure to get the temp up pretty high 300+ while stirring constantly (about 40 - 45 min) over Med heat.

This is a perfect gift to give in those decorated coffee cans!

Yum! For those times when you don't have the time to make it, have you ever tried Skor candy bars? I love to eat the chocolate off and then eat the crunchy toffee bar! ...okay, now I want some chocolate!!
