I actually called my dentist last week (after I had already gotten like 20+ tubes from WAG for free) and asked him about this because I had read about it. He told me it doesn't happen to everybody but some people do react to the "stannous flouride" that is used in this versus the sodium flouride most toothpaste is made with . I think the stannous is better for building enamel, so its good for people with sensitive teeth, etc.
I am afraid to use it so will probably give it away. My dentist did say it is a small percentage of people who react this way.

call crest. YES it happens to some people. Yes it happened to me! They say only a very small amount get the stains, and it shows that the mauothwash is working. YUK! working to get good breath and kill germs causes brown teeth! YUK. I quit using it after my dentist told me that is prob what was causing my teeth stains, called crest and they sent a Q for a free tube of toothpaste...wow thanks crest!

hmm, I have been using the toothpaste for a week and no problems yet. I have noticed my teeth are less sensative and maybe a bit whiter. My husband has gingivitis so I was glad to get free toothpaste that would fight gingivitis and strengthen teeth. But thanx for the warning.

We went through 3 bottles of the mouthwash so far with no problems. Hope it stays that way because I really like it.

The dentist said it is both. If you read the box on the toothpaste it actually says right on it that it can cause staining

Default I could certainly use any extras anyone wants to send...

I have to say...I have not had any of those problems, and I've been using this since it first came to market (gasp, when I was on a break from coupons!)

I had the start of gum disease in my early 20s due to a series of chronic/incurable diseases that I have that damage many of my body systems. Thought I brushed multiple times daily and flossed almost daily (I'm not perfect!), had quit caffeine, had quit eating ALL sugar except in fruit, and did not smoke, I was getting 8-12 cavities a year!!

I started using a SonicCare toothbrush and Crest Pro Health Rinse and toothpaste. These two things together drastically changed the health of my mouth. The next year, I had ZERO cavities. My teeth and gums are not stained at all.

I hope this helps some of you worry less. And if you don't want your extras, feel free to send them my way, they really help my health.

I am certainly sorry for anyone to whom this stuff has caused problems.

    Take care,
    Betsy

I use both of these daily, (exclusively!!) and I've yet to have any problems at all! And I will continue to do so.
