RECALL: Banquet Pot Pies

ConAgra Foods is recalling Banquet Turkey and Chicken Pot Pies, and advising consumers to not eat these products while the USDA and ConAgra Foods look into these concerns.

This advisory pertains to Banquet brand frozen chicken or turkey pot pie products or generic store brand not-ready-to-eat pot pie products bearing the number "P-9" printed on the side of the package. The company believes the issue is likely related to consumer undercooking of the product.

Consumers may return these products to ConAgra Foods for a refund by sending the side panel of the package that contains the code "P-9" to ConAgra Foods, Dept. BQPP, P.O. Box 3768, Omaha, NE 68103-0768. If consumers prefer, they may return the product to the store from which it was purchased for a refund; consumers should discard the product prior to returning the entire package to their retail store.

The store brands included in this recall are:

Hill Country Fare (sold at HEB)
Food Lion (sold at Food Lion)
Great Value (sold at Wal-Mart)
Kirkwood (sold at Aldi)
Kroger (sold at Kroger)
Meijer (sold at Meijer)

I saw this on the news tonight too. Of course we have about 10 boxes of these with P-9 on them. Thanks for the info about the returns! I wasn't sure about that since that wasn't part of the news story.

I just bought 60 of these from Ralph's. I guess I will be pulling them all out of the freezer in hte morning to check the codes..uugghh..Better safe than sorry!!

AAHHH! I just bought 6 of these yesterday, and of course DH, the kids, and I all ate them for supper last night! I just pulled the boxes out of the trash, and sure enough they are all P9!! :frown:

I've got 10 of them in my freezer. My hubby is the only one who eats them, and he's not going to be happy when I tell him about this. First they took his hot dog chili away...now this!! LOL! He's going to think someone's out to get him!

Thanks! I had a few in my freezer. I'm gonna send the side panels back rather than take them to the store. I figure they might send some coupons along with the refund $$.

I had of these thanks OP. my 2 y/o son is the only one who eats them... not anymore. just in case.

Thanks for the post. I checked and didn't have any of these in the freezer, thank goodness. It makes you wonder what is safe to eat anymore with all the e-coli, etc. outbreaks. Spinach, hamburger, pot pies...what's next?

What is going on with all of these massive recalls because of E. coli lately? Kinda makes a person worry about everything you feed your family. Isn't this the second or third time ConAgra has had a recall this year?

Yep! They recalled peanut butter in February I think.
