I just wanted to say some great things about Schlage.
We have their locks and door knobs in our house...
Did you know they have a lifetime warranty including finish?
Do you know you can even take care of it on line if you do have a problem?

Our door leading into our garage is by far the most used door knob in the house, the door has to be opened and closed at minimum 30 times a day. We had a problem with the latch a few years ago and I emailed them and they sent us a new latch no questions asked.
The latch broke again (turns out that was our fault though) and while I was searching on their website I found that they also have a lifetime warranty on thier finish. Our front door handle (the kind you push down the thingy to open the door with a knob on the inside) has the finish coming off. So I email them about the latch and they email me back requesting a picture of the problem. So I sent in the picture along with a picture of my front door handle too. The CS person called me back and told me that the latch is broken because the knob has the wrong inside knob for a keyed lock. Turns out we had a problem with the knob and husband did a quick fix using another knob from a bathroom door that has a push button lock...That is a no no as it turns out. But she is going to send another latch but told me we need to replace the knob in order to keep the warranty this time (So I will have a free replacement latch since that comes with the knob set I had to buy $22 at Lowes)
Anyway, she requested a picture of the inside of my front door so they know which handle PLUS DEADBOLT they need to send...
That is all I had to do was email them pictures of the problem. How easy was that?
Any time we have to replace a door knob it is most definitely going to be a SCHLAGE.
