    QUESTION Smart Balance Milk reviews?

I have never bought anything but regular old plastic gallons of milk. With a Meijer deal this week, the Smart Balance milk is 59c each. So I want to try it.

What are your opinions on the various versions?
    Taste?
    Compared to regular milk?
    Kids like it?

I've bought the blue container before (sorry, don't remember the name). I was getting it free for a while.
I personally liked it! It had a longer expiration, almost like organic milk does, plus it had the omega 3's in it. The milk didn't taste bad at all and was very thick/creamy, even though it wasn't whole milk.

    Hope that helps!

We like it...it is a little bit thicker then normal...but we like the long ex dates..and that's a great price!

I've been getting coupons lately...but the store that has it here...has it priced at over $4 for half gallon...ouch ...to expensive for my taste.

Hmm, I don’t think it’s thick or creamy; to me it has the consistency of skim milk. I think it tastes OK but I like regular milk better. But you can’t beat the price when Meijer has it on sale. Just one warning though, do not freeze it. I’ve tried it and every time it had chunkies in it when it defrosted. It tasted and smelled fine but I still had a hard time drinking it.

We love it and I always buy all I can get when it's on sale. We go through alot of milk. When we are trying something new I just buy one and see we like it. Give it a try.

We like it here, Ive frozen it. but i find i have to leave it on the counter to completely thaw and keep an eye on it to put it in the fridge when thawed completely. My fridge is too cold for it to thaw in there.

My husband is pretty picky when it comes to milk and he will drink the red container (think it is 1%) and not the other colors. My kids on the other hand haven't noticed a difference and they drink all the containers. We buy it when it is free or up to about 79 cents per half gallon. During the last super doubles even, I had 21 half gallons in my fridge...it was the entire bottom shelf. We drank it all before it expired which was over a month after I bought it.

We love it but would never pay full price for it. I like the lactose free but the other kinds are good too!

Hoping you want ALL opinions here! I DON'T like it at all. I tried to like it; I wanted to like it. Tried the red label one. At first I couldn't put my finger on it, then re-read the label. Omega 3's are fish oil. So, yeah, I don't want fishy taste in my milk--call me crazy! Plus, I'm not sure here, but I think the longer expiration date is because it is pasteurized more than regular milk (read cooked). If I'm wrong, please let me know; that's just my understanding of longer expiration dates on milk.

    HTH!
