This happened to me 2yrs ago with "The Pearl" tampons I called and wrote to the company. They sent me a refund.

I opened a sample pack to find that the applicator split when I took them out of the wrapper. This happened on every single one in the sample pack (four), and the box was not crushed.

I don't use them either. Always scared something like this could happen. Sorry OP you had to endure that scary experience but glad you are ok.

I would guess that if you left it in for a month or two it was because you forgot about it, not because the string came off.

Of course, if you're brave enough to dig it out yourself, you could save a trip to the ER.

The string brakes so when it not there they think they took it out and forgot....

I tried but I could not get a grip to get it out...LOL I really did not want to go


I dont use tampon very aften, I have titled uterus and they hurt me, but to get in the pool I have to use them.. the regular ones i had the box was empty so I use the simple...

How crazy Teresa. I cant imagine looking down there and saying "hmmm, I wonder where my string has gone?" I'm glad that you were able to have it safely removed. Are these the tampons with no applicator? Did you find the string in your undies? Those things really look like they are attached pretty well but I guess not.
