I am not on Sprint (I'm on Verizon) but I do have the Tour. I LOOOOOVE it! It does load faster and the screen is so much more vivid than any other I've seen. My DF has the Curve and we tested speed by loading the same site/same time and my Tour beat his by quiet a bit. My only qualm is the time it takes to reboot. Takes forever - over 10 minutes....... Tip: I was up for my new contract with VZW, which takes $100 off any phone. There was also a $70 mail-in-rebate that would take the price down to $99. I went to Best Buy (they had the phone listed as $149) and talked them into matching the $99 price I would have gotten through VZW. Made for a better deal since I did not have to wait 6-8 weeks on the $70 MIR from VZW...... Highly recommend the Tour!

One more thing....... With DF's Curve, I could not get on HCW for some reason. I can with the Tour! (I'm using it as we speak to post this message)Which is a blessing since we moved to a area that has no internet service except for dial up.

really? wow. I can do HCW but its slow. Going to best buy is a must! I hate MIRs and BIL works in the geek squad and can get a pretty nice discount!
Thanks for the info!!
Glad to hear this. I am starting to look for prices and such because I can get a new phone in November. I've been dying for a Blackberry for a while. (Which is the reason I bumped the thread...I was going to start my own!)
I am with Verizon, but want to check around on monthly pricing. I have been with Verizon for over 7 years, but I am most certainly not opposed to switching providers for a lower price.
Do you mind me asking how much you pay for your data plan? And how do you like the phone overall? Best things, any cons?? The reviews for some of the Blackberries are not too hot, so I am looking for reviews from real people, i.e. people here on HCW.
Also, did you have to pay any sort of activation fee since you bought your phone at Best Buy? Thanks!!
Side note: In reading reviews, I heard someone liken the BB to a computer...as in if you don't shut down all your apps before turning off or restarting, it will take forever to reboot. Others said if they did shut down everything, it shortened the reboot time significantly.
I LOVE VERIZON! But.. they are WAY higher then Sprint.
Here is a breakdown of what we pay...
For 6 people (4 users have blackberry curves) we pay $200 a month Not including tax, not including insurances.
We have 2000 minutes, unlimited data, text, unlimited everything except minutes.**Includes Sprint TV, Sprint Navigation, Email, Messengers, IM,
if you have 2 users, it starts at 129.
The great part that makes sprint stand out- Is they don't charge you for a BB plan like verizon. Unlimited data also includes BB users.
Our bill ends up being about $260 a month after everything, and its split 6 ways. If we were with verizon...
add $30 for each BB user... ($120) and look at the difference.
The other GREAT part (only reason why i agreed to switch) is when sprint is roaming it runs off Verizon. So you get verizon service persay at half the price.
I have decided to wait a few months before upgrading. I can't justify spending the $200... It will eventually drop to $100 soon i hope.
You still have to pay activation fees regardless where you buy the phone...
Sometimes they run a special no activation fees....
As for the blackberry's that are'nt so hot....
The curve has flaws, but it's hit or miss. My sister and I have both had problems. But DH and my Brother havent had any problems.
I am a "power user" and so is my sister, so that could be why we have noticed more problems.
The biggest problem which you've pointed out, is people not realizing they have a crap load of apps running.
The old Blackberry 7250 was a joke. It didn't do half of what the curve does, but i feel the curve i have outgrown and need a phone that can do more. Such as pull up HCW with out probelms so i can reply etc.
I have noticed im gone more and more, and not every place has wifi... and my curve doesn't have the processor to load a huge site like this
I work at AT&T- the blackberry curve is an OKAY phone, but i personally like the Blackberry Bold. DO NOT GO WITH THE TOUCH SCREEN BLACKBERRY. i cannot stress this enough, there are still MANY serious issues with the touch screen which causes it to malfunction.
