Our Moderator of the Month for the month of November is Hillaryef.

Hillary joined HCW 9/9/08 and became a mod in 2010.

She is the forum Co-moderator for Secret Pal and forum Moderator for Kroger - Cincinnati. If you shop Kroger I am sure she would love it if you stopped in to say hello or share a deal.
If you have yet to do a swap here on HCW, nows the time! She is running one RIGHT NOW.

She is also our Secret Santa Mod and has helped run this fantastic program for the past 2 years. I cannot begin to explain to you how much time, thought and heart she puts into this program starting well before it actually kicks off live on the board.

Also, she is the self proclaimed biggest hokie fan ever, but i'll let you read more about that below.

Hillary is someone that I am happy to call friend and I know that quite a few of you have become friends with her as well over the years. So help me in telling her congrats!

Little Known Factoid

I'm a die hard Hokie. Okay, that's not a surprise. But what people probably don't know is that I became a Hokie Fan the day my brother stepped foot on UVa's campus. And my Mom (not dad) taught me all football around the age of 13. She joked if you learn the game, you won't go without a date in college during football season (and you know what she was right!)

Favorite Money Saving Tip

Don't just chase the deal because it is a great deal. Every week there will be that "awesome" deal of an item you will "definitely" use. Sometimes cash flow matters more than the deal. Oh and don't shop at Target (hahahahaha) Once I cut trips to Target out of my life I saved us hundreds!!! I was shocked at how much extraneous money I was spending in there...I can NEVER go in and just get "what I need" b/c I seem to "need" everything!!

Budget

Honestly, 100% depends on the week. I grocery shop every other week. It has significantly helped me stop "chasing the deals" One week I only get bare essentials (milk, fresh produce). The next week I'll pantry shop.

Stores I shop

Primarily Kroger and CVS. Meijer, sometimes Aldi and maybe monthly Target

Binders, binders and more binders.

Best Advice to Newbies

This site has SO much information and it really is helpful. But take it one step at a time. If you try to read too much at one time you will get overwhelmed. I STRONGLY encourage a person to become a TNT. Even if you don't plan to do a lot of trading. The things you learn in the TNT forum are priceless. While in the program I was able to meet some long time members and met up with one of my closet friends! And...HAVE FUN! This site, while useful and informative, is also a great place to have fun. Remember that there are places out side of store/trade forums where you can go to have fun, like the Secret Pals forum (hee hee hee...innocent plug of course), a place to chat about TV or day to day stuff, even a section to help you figure out what to cook that night in the the recipes forum. It is a site that has stuff for everyone!
