I am so very happy to announce the Moderator of the Month for June 2010.... drumroll please!!

Melli has been a member since 11/3/2007 and has been one of our Coupon Train forum mods in the trade forums for 2 years now!!
She is also a Trader in Training Coach and always takes the time to help out any member who needs help with their trades.
Many of you, who are not train riders, know her because she has jumped in to help whenever it was needed, so many times, in many other forums in those 2 years.

Some of you may know this already,this gal can COOK! One of my favorite threads that she has started is recipe's she makes to use up your stockpile foods. Check it out and add your own ideas, I am sure she would love some new ones to try out.

no post about melli would be complete without Duff so I hope this pic works LOL.

We all think she has added a lot of great information to this board and her "reps" are proof of that. With over 200,000 members, she is in the top 20 of all members for positive comments left by fellow members.

Little Known Factoid

I have 8 siblings, and my husband has 9! So upon getting married, I actually got my dream of having a ridiculously large family.

Favorite Money Saving Tip

I have a few favorites. 1. Never leave the house without a list, and make sure you check really quick to see if you have any coupons for things on that list! 2. When I plan my meals for the week, I make them in sizes where my husband will have lunch left over the next day, and some times we have stuff left to be turned into other meals (think pot roast = pot roast tacos!) 3. If there is something that I like, I will try to learn to make it at home to save money on it - that includes foods, laundry and dishwasher detergent, and now I am learning to make clothes thanks to a very good friend giving me her sewing machine!

Budget

$50 wk for food for 2 adults (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks), $30 wk daycare breakfast, lunch and snacks and $80 per month for HBA and dog food, which we don't really touch for HBA any more since we have a nice stockpile.

Stores I shop

Pick N Save, Sentry, Woodman's, Target (my favorite!) CVS, and Walgreens as well as the local fruit market and our farmers market. They dont take q's, but the super fresh produce is totally worth it!

Coupon Organization Method

For my personal coupons, I use the binder method, and for trading coupons I have a plastic shoebox sized bin that has alphabetized coupons in it. Now the trick is just finding the time to keep everything filed lately!!!

Best Advice to Newbies

Take your time, find yourself a good coupon buddy here. Join traders in training to learn the ropes and meet some wonderful coaches and fellow newbies. When you get out there, armed with your precious new coupons, just try to stock up on one kind of item at a time, something that you use regularly, so that you see the rewards of the investment of time that you have made (and so you don't get burnt out your first week out!)

My favorite part about learning to stockpile using coupons was that I was given the ability to share what I had with friends, family, and those in need.
