Just kidding. Hmm...I like to paint, but I never do it anymore since I have no time for such frivolous activities.
Favorite Money Saving Tip: Rebates, rebates, rebates! I've started doing more rebates lately, and I think one of the most important things for people to remember is to combine your coupons with a rebate you already have and plan to do. If you're buying meat for a rebate and you have a meat winetag, go ahead and spend less on that meat and still submit the rebate. You can add other items to your order that you don't normally have a coupon for to make your total the amount of the rebate, but in some cases this is unnecessary. Even if your out of pocket expenses are less than what you expect to receive from the rebate, you usually can still submit for the rebate and get the full amount back.
Stores I shop: Shaw's and Hannaford mainly for groceries. I also shop at Amazon for some groceries when they have good coupon codes for items I can't find in my regular stores. (Plus you can't beat free shipping if you spend $25).
Coupon Organization Method: Currently, I don't think you could call what I have a method. I have a binder for my non-inserts. I can fit some inserts (whole) in there, but mainly my inserts are just stacked up out of order since I barely use them. Maybe I should make a plan for the New Year.
Best Advice to Newbies: Don't try to do too much too soon. I did that. I ended up spending too much to begin with and only later realized my mistake. I thought I needed to hit every CVS and get in on every deal, even if I didn't need or use the product. You can usually start at CVS without any $$ out of pocket by simply waiting for a diabetes monitor deal. Same goes with groceries. If what you're getting is free, make sure you can use it before the expiration dates or donate it. There's no sense holding onto items and letting them expire. And the same goes with trading. You may not need to trade for 10 or 20 of xyz coupon if you can only use 5 before it goes bad. Keep a level head and know that deals will come around again.
