I haven't been shopping there as often lately b/c of budget reasons (gotta love Dave Ramsey!) But am sad to hear ours is closing! I heard that the company is having big financial trouble and is closing quite a few of their stores.
The one I shop is Hickory NC. Has anybody else had their store to close? When do the sales start? I'd like to save up some blow money to get some cheap scrapbooking stuff maybe?!?
Your best bet is to ask the employees when the store is closing (a definite end date) and when the clearance sales will start. The biggest % off will come nearest to the closing date. Although the selection might not be as good then.
I am in Columbus, GA and our AC Moore closed on July 6. They closed in less than a month from finding out. I was a little disappointed but I didn't shop there a lot. I like to sew and they don't have fabric.
Thats strange.. with Rag Shop gone, you would figure AC Moore would get more business. The AC Moore by me got way busier after we lost 3 local Rag Shops and Franks Nursery and crafts. But our AC Moore is a DUMP! Messy, crap all over and the employees dont know anything!
I went to the one in Hickory today. No signs were posted about them closing but there were tags on EVERY shelf that read "20% off" or "xx% off"
(you know the kind they put everywhere when a store is going outta biz)
I just wonder why they don't have store closing signs.
I was going to ask an employee but didn't have time to wait in line.
My friend works there part time and he's asked them about closing, they are denying it. I found out they were closing from a person that works at Micheal's part time (not the same person lol.)

I went to mine yestrday and they had the same kind of signs. A big ad that said "Entire store on sale". My AC Moore is right next door to Michaels. Makes it so darn easy to comparison price shop. I've never understood them being side by side like that tho.
