when you say bran, where do you get it? Is it with the flour and other baking items? I just want to know what Im looking for!
No Knead Bran Bread
a favorite and very adaptable recipe. The first time I made this for DH, he ate the ENTIRE loaf in one sitting...
3 c. flour (white, wheat...)
1/2 c. instant non-fat dry milk (or use regular milk instead of water, below)
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/4 c. sugar or honey
1 1/2 c. warm water (or milk, see note above)
2 c. Bran
1 egg
1/2 c. margarine or butter (or your choice of appropriate substitute)
Mix everything except flour together. Beat well (by hand or mixer). Add flour using one half, then beat well, add the rest by hand. Cover and let rise about one hour. Stir down. Sppon into well greased 9 s 5 x 3" standard loaf pan. Bake at 375 degrees about 45 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes one loaf.
Can add seeds, grains...very adaptable.

Usually with the cereal OR cornmeal type things. It's a bag or box of unprocessed wheat bran. Occasionally it's with the health food items, depending on if it's an organic brand (like Hodson Mills, Bob's Red Mill, etc.) or a regular brand.

would I find it by flax seed? Thanks so much Flash LOL

I edited your OP to read DRY YEAST, rather than dry years.![]()

Well, if the years are dry, you need extra bran...![]()
Unprocessed wheat bran, yep, if your store has flaxseed or flaxseed meal, they should have bran right next to it. Or nearby.
