Pasty recipe wanted
I just got back from Upper Michigan and had a few pasties while I was there. My husband is from Madison, Wisconsin, and I've had Miles Teddywedgers quite often. His crust was a lot different than what I had in Michigan. I didn't like that crust because I could taste the shortening/lard. I've looked for crust recipes like Miles uses, but can't find any. Any advice?

Re: Pasty recipe wanted
The way I make my crust is I use 2 cups self-rising flour and 1 stick of melted butter, and 1 teaspoon salt. I mix it all together with a fork and then spread into a 13x9 pan or 2 pie crusts. If using as a dessert pie crust I add 1 teaspoon vanilla to it. I have been making this easy crust for 25 years now, since I was 14 years old. I have never had any complaints yet, lol

Thanks! Maybe it's the butter that makes it better than shortening. I never thought about making it into a casserole type thing!
