Re: Bloom- Super Double Matchups (Charlotte area) Another simple deal for me, I thought. I had 4 $1/1 Jose Ole and they are $5.99 B1G1 free. I noticed two of the packages were opened. Such findings at Home Depot, etc. can get you a manager's discount. I get to the register and the clerk may have been new because I always thought 4 items at Bloom = 4 coupons, but the clerk did not. The clerk showed the open packages to the manager and this particular variety did not have a plastic bag inside to secure the contents. I'm positive all 15 were in each box and not a problem for me, even if the manager did not throw me a minor discount. He said, he'd give me one of the opened ones for free. I thought WOW....thanks....but on second thought I realized I was ruining my own coupon deal.
Then the clerk handed me 3 of my 4 coupons back and said since you got 1 free, you can only use 1 coupon. The manager was right there on the next checkout line and within 5-6 feet of where I was. I asked the clerk, so 4 coupons can not be used on 4 items. Again she called the manager over, which I hope to avoid. Hopefully the clerks know what to do. I told the manager I'd never known at Bloom, that 4 items did not mean 4 coupons, so in order to use my 4 coupons, I said I'll just pay for all 4 and wave the free one you are giving me, and he said ok. They were B1G1 free any way.
So, I expected a final bill of $6.00 + tax since I got a Mrs. Smith pie with coupon.
My total was $2.00 + tax and the clerk gave me two of the Jose Ole coupons back. The line was now getting large, and I knew this was not correct, so I just paid and left. It looks like I got all 4 Jose Ole for free and only had to use 2 of my 4 coupons. The pie was going to be $2.00 any way. Sale 2 for $8.00 and $1/1.
It seems I owe them $4.00. The 4 Jose's should have been $1 a box with me having no coupons left over. I knew my math, total bill of $6 + tax. The clerk got confused on coupons and one free item by the manager, she may have discounted $5.99 instead of discounting one of the free ones. The line was too long to continue the discussion. My store was pretty busy and two people in my line had 20 coupons. I only used 9 over 3 trips due to the 2 free limit on some Breeze Deals.
I'll take my receipt back next week and show them why I owe them $4.00.
