So I have to revise what I said earlier about not spending any out of pocket money at Ralphs. I totally forgot about mail in rebates.

If I can...

So I have to revise what I said earlier about not spending any out of pocket money at Ralphs. I totally forgot about mail in rebates.

If I can get an item for free after rebate and it would be better for me to buy at Ralphs then, Wags, Rite-Aid or CVS, then I will buy at Ralphs to increase my reward points.

Also, they are having a sale on Kraft singles this Friday for 3 @ $5. I have a .50/1 qpon, which will make the cheese .66 each. I think I might stock up on the cheese. Not sure yet because I did get cheese from Albertsons this month and I have about 6 packs left. I have 19 free bread coupons, which is a lot of bread, so I might buy the cheese.

Since, I have to shop at more stores because of the changing coupon policies, I went to food-4-Less yesterday and here is what I bought....

plus I got 2 (12) count boxes of Cherry Coke Zero(not pictured). I paid $20.16. Not free, but cheap.

The bread, hotdog buns, the Coke and the OM hotdogs were all free with coupons.

making lemonade....:BigHand:

Making Lemonade!

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. That is what I have decided to do since two of the major grocery stores(Ralphs and Vons) around here...

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. That is what I have decided to do since two of the major grocery stores(Ralphs and Vons) around here stopped doubling $1 and up coupons.:frown:

I never really shopped at Vons. I would only go there for cheap and free items. The news that they would stop doubling really didn't bother me as much. This is the second time they have done this. "Fool me once, shame on you....."

What surpised me was that Ralphs would stop doubling $1 and up coupons! I never saw it coming, nor was I prepared for this.

What to do?

Ralphs has a new reward program where you receive $5 for every $500 you spend.:rolleyes24: You have 3 months to accumulate those points, then you are sent a rewards certificate to spend at Ralphs. The Details are Here

At first I thought, "oooooweeee-stop-the-presses-Ralphs-is-bring-out-the-Big-Guns-$5-for-$500.":rolleyes24:

Yeah, it does not sound like a lot. I vowed I would never go into Ralphs again. They are to expensive, and doubling $1 and up coupons really helped reduce my grocery bill. But they had a 10 for $10 sale and I got free deodorant using $1 qpons. While viewing my receipt, I notice that the coupon amount increased my reward points. I didn't think they would count the coupons as points, but they do.

Here is where I can start to make lemonade. Last week, I had accumulated about 250 points. They gave you 100 points for turning in you old rewards card for a new card. Within a week, I now have a total of 756 points and I paid nothing out of pocket to get the extra points.

Here are two of my receipts from today.

--------------------------------------

As you can see, I went up 100+ points today. I spent nothing oop.

So this will be my goal. I will try and earn as many rewards certificates as I can from Ralphs without spending any money out of my own pocket.

I love lemonade!
