To order or not to order

Posted 09-02-2007 at 11:23:36 AM by VJWilson27

So I met Tina (thickbluebug) at my CVS last week. She had ALL these great coupons that I *know* our papers didn't get. Turns out she orders from TCC.

WOW I never thought about actually ordering coupons. Yeah it kinda defeats the purpose of saving with coupons, but if I can save $2 (x28) and spend $5. Is it really worth it? I mean the $2 I wouldn't be saving doesn't come out of my pocket, and the $5 does.

I guess I'm not quite convinced yet. I reserve the right to revisit this situation at a later date and time.

I find that if you live in an area with crappy inserts (ie small town in Wyoming), and there is no other way to get your hands on the coupons you need, ordering coupons, either through a clipping service, paying a PPHF here on the trading boards can be a viable way of still saving money. I put the money spent on coupons into my budget, and budget $10 a week. I get whole inserts, which run me aprox. $7-8 a week for 10 sets of each insert. I save anywhere from $500 to $1000 most weeks, so the cost is a good investment.

But don't dicredit trading coupon for coupon for the coupons you need or offering your extra coupons for PPHF to offset the cost of paying a handling fee for the coupons you need.

I have bought coupons on ebay before, but only for items that will be free AC. Like when Publix had green giant veggies 1.00 a box, I bought a ton of .50/1 coupons and stuffed the freezer with free veggies. I may have paid a total of 5.00 for the coupons but got 100 boxes of veggies for free. So, sometimes, it is worth it.

    Trading my game

I just like to trade. I've got something someone else needs, and they have something I need. I've missed a thing or two but they come around again plus I like to be able to help someone else out in the process.

I've bought some off ebay. Actually I've only paid for their time to find, clip, collect the coupons.... we know the jargin & what it REALLY means. Anywho, whatever fits your couponing lifestyle best.
