HotCouponWorld - Plunking away $500 in August- I hope!!

I have been inspired by Kimandkathess and am joining the savingsfest! I am going to attempt to plunk away $500 in the month of August. This will be put toward an emergency fund.

This will be tough since my DH has been out of work for 6 weeks and we have not rec'd a TDI check yet, but I am going to try my best to generate $500 and I will bring you along for the ride!! :hamster2:

I am starting with an initial $20 put aside from my paycheck on August 1.

8/4/08- I tutor on Mondays and most of this has been going to groceries and spending money, but I have managed to wrangle $30 for the fund... fund total: $50.00

Ebay's Rockin' It Out!

8-8-08: I had several items sell on Ebay today!! Total sold (without the shipping, because obviously I have to deduct that!) was $25.75. So far, I have only rec'd $8.50 for the payment of 1 item, so all I am counting for now is that payment. Once the others are paid I will add them to my total. Someone is interested in a baby gate I have on Craigslist, so hopefully I will meet up with her this weekend to add to the tally!

SO, (drum roll please), the total as of today is: $95.71!

Today, I did meet up with the lady from Craigslist and sold a bunch of children's board books for $20! I am so happy that someone else can use the books that brought us such happiness... and that I can get just a little bit closer to my goal. I also sold a cute little sweater dress on Ebay. I bought it for $2 and sold it for 11.60 plus shipping. I am going to transfer $10 to my savings account and leave the rest in paypal for fees

As of today, the total is: $87.21

Slow Day!

8/6/08- I was supposed to meet up with someone on Craigslist to exchange a bag of books for $20, but in true Craigslist fashion, it didn't happen! We have rescheduled for Wednesday. I had a busy day, so all I could come up with was a purse and car raid! I collected $7.21 in change... mostly quarters, which is really surprising for me! I will try to generate extra $$ to cover the slacking. My goal needs to be about $17 per day to make my main goal of $500 by the end of the month. Thanks for...

I have posted a challenge to all of the hot couponer's out there! You've helped me before, so I'm hoping to pick your brains for this one!! I challenge you to come up with creative ways to make a few bucks- not necessarily big money, just a few bucks to add to the fund. Here are my ideas so far:

tutoring
collecting change in a jar
Selling items on Ebay and Craigslist
Paid surveys
selling my firstborn child.... just kidding.... maybe
