Hi, thickbluebug here.
In this blog we will chart our journey of the deals we are chasing and the rebates we are hunting.
Tossing in some daily thoughts and tips.
Of course there will be drama too. We are couponers and someone is always trying to pee in the cornflakes - so drama is a given. Deal jealous fools trying to spoil the fun.

Our dog of 12 years just died

My sons first dog just died. He picked her out of the line up at the pound in 1998. She was a Schnauzer border collie mix.
We called her Mattie but in fact the pound had named her Mottie. When the girl showed her she pronounced it Mattie - so that's what she was called.

I guess old age got her.
I noticed last week she wasn't eating much. So I started working on trades for more mighty dog. She likes it and that's what we use to get her glucosamine down her. She weighed...

March Stockpile Challenge

March stockpile challenges
I am participating in the stockpile olympics as well as the living off your stockpile. I noticed holes in stockpile a few months ago. I refuse to pay high prices when it's not absolutely neccesary. So I play to play and keep myself accountable in the challenges and rotate my stockpile.
If I continue to replace my stockpile during the sales cycles my stockpile can maintain it's size.

Thickbluebug's 2010 clutter challenge

So I need stuff to be gone.
I am getting stressed because of this stuff. I have so much stuff and it's not in a place - it's in my space. LOL

Behind on posting what I threw out Jan/Feb.

Jan: 7 bags junk
Feb: 5 bags of magazine/coupon/scraps
.

Like others in the challenge we are not counting individual paper items and aim to spend a few minutes each day getting rid of stuff to balance...

February 2010 stockpile challenge

I am doing both challenges this month. The living off your stockpile and eating from your stockpile we do anyway to rotate the stock. The next challenge is the stockpiling Olympics.
Many of us are finding missing spaces in our pantries from participating in stockpile challenge #1. So I am participating in #2 because we are almost out of pasta. Plus I need to start back on condiment stockpiling. This is the time of year many mirs are found for things like hot sauce and salsa. Plus french's...
