Hi, thickbluebug here.
In this blog we will chart our journey of the deals we are chasing and the rebates we are hunting.
Tossing in some daily thoughts and tips.
Of course there will be drama too. We are couponers and someone is always trying to pee in the cornflakes - so drama is a given. Deal jealous fools trying to spoil the fun.

Thickbluebug's August Stockpile challenge
I haven't done well this month keeping my crts - hence the xx part of my numbers.
Plus I had huge summer grill party this past w/e for the inlaws.
WD
89.xx
65.xx
Publix
12.xx
3.22
4.97
20.06 ( eggos and fruit paper plates and tea - but I will have a $10 mir on this one so wasn't too bad )
Bruno's
18.96 chicken, sodas, rice, noodles
for found crt
used expiring q's july 31'st not counted in July spending, but came from mir money so it's a moot point. LOL
PW
piggly wiggly
separate orders for steak mirs totalling $16x.xx for steaks.
yeah $170.00 :shrug7:
$38.xx produce, crackers, potatoes, bread, soda, ice and fixens for the dinner
$20 for a celebration cake picture of a volkswagon on it - priceless!
Walmart for drinks 11.60 - still not bad for 20 liters - better that I have a mir for sodas.
Other:
I have spent
110.00 from my cash reserve at dollar general, target, walmart, jcpenney, RA, cvs and wags for coupon holders, quad chairs (mir items),
grilling utensils sets (mir), sunglasses (mir), socks, shirts and towels (mir) for xmas gifts (dirty santa for the inlaws),
kellogg's mir items, and rr, ecb items for my yard sale.
Had gc's for what I spent over that cash.
Coupons
$37 so far and I have several pending trades for the $2/1 chinets ($6.42). My source for coupons has dried up and I am scrambling to find more coupons for upcoming sales.
Mirs -
Been raoking several forms
- I was trading forms for stockpile items and coupons - but that has dried up so I had extras.
Spent $89 for forms and got $46 of that back for a huge trade that was lost.
So $43 for forms so far.
Dining out:
28.xx bbq
18.xx taco bell
12.xx Jack's
10.60 Little Ceasar's
5.xx Mcdonald's
tt $76.xx
Zero oop,
All above were from my rolling of rebate funds - but still a big chunk to re stock my freezer with meat deals this month.
Good thing about the challenge was that we used up several rows of my freezer
meat, cheese, veggies and eggos -
Even though it is so expensive to restock - I have to do it when I can do it with rebates. That's the only way I get to play.
Not as expensive as it would have been to toss as freezer burnt food - so a big thanks to sarah jean and the stockpile challenge for the summer!
I will not be participating in the Sept challenge. Sept is my last month before we have a big time money crunch and I really need to concentrate on my deals - especially for food.
I really feel like I need 2 years stocked up in my shelf stable pantry, but with the exp dates out right now - that's not possible.
So my game plan is to buy what is free after q and recycle the yard sale way and re-buy when the dates are better for my free after q items.
Plus trying to keep my self out of cvs/wags/ra is a challenge in itself! The stockpile challenge really helped me with those stores.
Left unchecked my spending in those places will eat my stock pile playing money up in a heart beat!
So you guys won't see much of me in here or online during September.
Hope everyone keeps on doing well in the stockpile challenges and finding those mm deals!
Incoming:
stockpile trades
$50, $10, $25
checks:
4.99, 2.99, 10.00
