Rebate tips

1/21/2009

after you complete your mir ....put it aside before you seal it up. I find a mistake or 2 when I look at the completed form the next day.

One form might want a dob and the next form wants todays date. One might want the name of the store where rebate was found or a signature.

Tip of the day
Rebates, to reduce your chance of rejection mark rebates, receipts, with name and addie. Paper flies everywhere in those processing centers. When a name is on the crt is makes it easier to match up to the envie and to the form.

I have ordered several self inking stamps from vista. I love the stamps!
Self inking stamps are still one of their free ones you just pay shipping on. Shipping for me was 5.95 for pens and a stamp.

tip of the day

Rebates and soyjoys.
Last year I counted soy joys as snack foods for the superbowl. LOL, they went through fine. Most people think of nuts, chips, meat snacks....think about all those free soyjoys and do a double dip with a rebate.

Tip of the day

eggs: did you know you can freeze them? I crack the eggs and toss the shells out.
I dump the eggs in my zip bags in sets of 3, 4, or 6 at a time. That's the quantity I cook with.
Write on the bag with a sharpie.
Sometimes I scramble them before I put them in the baggies and sometimes I leave them unscrambled.

tip

Ever notice that the grocery stores around you have the same deals?

When I notice that all the stores are having a bogo on the same thing - I order some extra q's.
Last month it was delmonte veggies, and this month it was ken's salad dressing.

Most likely you can use them at the next store sale in a few weeks.
It's a gamble I make and has paid off many times.

Last yr I stocked up on .06 delmonte canned veggies, betty crocker boxed potatoes and uncle bens, that way

My fav deals so far for 09...
I am lovin:
free popcorn at publix 3/3 jolly time advantage buy... .50/1 coupon doubled...free plus I am using my $2/20 store coupon to get my tostitos bogo for the superbowl deal. Plus I using a $2/3 wyb tostitos/tostitos dip coupon

pepsi deal at wags
...spend 20 get 10 in rr back...My manager special ordered pepsi 2liters .....16 for $20 and I got a $10 rr back
.. Then I am using that crt for my coors $5 back on $20..... rebate...after everything cycles out it will $5 for 16
2 liters

Double dip:
then if I ask for a duplicate crt from the cashier....then I can double dip on the pepsi/superbowl deal too.

Tip of the day
I changed the way I buy groceries. Every purchase is a mini run. Yeah it takes a few more minutes, but it pays off with my rebates.

why:
My pet peeve is to find a big crt and waste all the other purchases on the crt.
Like if I have a crt that has $20 meat, $12 in soda, $14 in salty snacks, then I just lost out on all those other rebates

So now I buy my items in the amounts for the rebates I normally see

  • meat in $10/$15 orders,
  • pizza $10/$15 orders,
  • soft drinks $10 at a time,
  • chips/salsa and dips $10 at a time,
  • nuts and salty snacks $10 at a time.

Tip for the day:
Keep all your receipts and put them in a file folder by months.
You never know when you will find a rebate and can use that crt.
