This post was first published before the State Legislature of Illinois held hostage by the Govenor did in fact pass a Transit Funding Bill Which included free riding for Seniors. In theory, I was not opposed to the plan, the problem was his timing, which threatened to stop all public transit in the city dead the following week. It did create fodder for some pretty sick jokes and a few good points. Despite the respite, it looks like the President of CTA is going to replace a lot of the Exempt staff...
