Week of 2/14

Posted 02-16-2010 at 12:35:12 PM by shabba0819

Snowed in again over the weekend, so I didn't make it to the grocery store to do my usual weekend grocery shopping. I don't do much grocery shopping during the week because the friendly Food Lion that never has a problem with my coupons is in the opposite direction from where I have to be Monday through Friday. My work is 20 minutes north of my house, but that Food Lion is 15 minutes south of my house. The Food Lion that's near my work is very unfriendly about coupons and I've given up shopping there. So hopefully next weekend I can get a chance to actually grocery shop.

Anyway, so far this week:

Walgreens:
Downy $3.99 SALE
2 Tide Stain Release $3.99 each SALE
2 Welch's grape jelly $1.50 each SALE
2 Valentine's M&M's $1.50 each SALE
Imperial sugar $2.99

Original total: $22.14 ($30.21 before sales)

Coupons: $4 RR, 2 $.50 off any Welch's product, 2 $1 off Tide Stain Release, $1 off Downy, $1 off Imperial sugar ad coupon

Total paid: $13.14
Received $2 RR for the Downy & Tide

I didn't need the M&M's...but I certainly wanted them. Got the Welch's coupons from emailing the company and complimenting their products.

I got back a $6 rebate check on Friday.

February totals:
Merchandise total: $388.24
Total paid: $157.91
Minus rebates/contest wins received since 2/1/10: $43.98
Adjusted total spent: $113.93

    Total paid: $74.50

I just realized that I forgot to get my Cheez Doodles and Bush's coupons also, so that could have been another $2 off my total if I had remembered them.

I did get back a $.75 catalina from Dole and $3 off beef or chicken from Old El Paso. And I got yet another catalina for a FREE box of Tampax! I had gotten one of these a few weeks ago and I got another one today.

The Kraft dressings were the smaller bottles and they were all on closeout for $.99 each, so I grabbed a few bottles. Also, I love getting ice cream for less than $1. With the $1 off IP coupon from Blue Bunny and the MVP sale, their ice cream is just $.88 at Food Lion this week.

My FL was completely out of the Libby's that are on sale for $.39 this week though. There was a sign up on the shelf that said due to a warehouse shortage, they were out of stock of Libby's vegetables. Convenient that it happened right as this great sale on them was going on.:shrug7:

I got another rebate check for $10 in the mail yesterday.

    February totals:
    Merchandise total: $545.98
    Total paid: $241.04
    Minus rebates/contest wins received since 2/1/10: $68.98
    Adjusted total spent: $172.06
