There was a hole in my brand new roof this morning.....

all is good though - the mason guys were here and finished putting in the chimney.
They had worked on it all day yesterday and made it from the floor in the basement right up to the top of the attic, but then the rain came in, so they stopped working for the day.
Our construction crew had 2 days off earlier this week, so progress seems to be crawling. Plus we're waiting for the utility company to get here with a new pole to be put up in the yard.
We have a perfectly good utility pole already in the yard, 70 feet away from the house, but they want to put in a brand new one. At this point we have no idea when they'll be here. :frown:
But since my last post, here's what's been done:
~the 2 basement windows along the back side have been installed.
~the chimney is done
~the sheetrock work continues. They had access to putting in the chimney via ds#2's closet and now that the chimney is up, they did the sheetrock inside the closet. It still needs to be mudded and sanded, but at least it's up.
Our heating guy is coming on Sunday to finish hooking the furnace up and getting the oil tank piped and hopefully running the gas line for the stove and our dryer.
The front steps have been ordered, and should be in tomorrow.
We've hired a man to build a 12' x 10' deck off the sliding doors in our dining room. We got quotes from 6 different builders and the range of prices was crazy. We are going with a guy that we know does quality work and the price difference between his quote and the highest was $2800.
We've got 2 more companies coming to give us quotes on installing seamless gutters. One will be here shortly tonight and the other won't be until Monday.
That's it.....
