More work done today!!!
The dirt crew put up a retaining wall on the back southern side, so that we won't lose our driveway into our backyard. It will need some prettying up when all the work is done, as right now it's just honking concrete blocks, staggered like brickwork. (Hard to explain, so I'll take pictures tomorrow.)
The electric crew came in today and got most of the wiring done. The panel box is up in the basement and the meter is on the outside of the house. They will also have to redo the outlet in my laundry room downstairs as they put in a 220 outlet, but we have a gas dryer, not an electric dryer. Now we have to wait for the Electric Company to come in and run the wire to the house. We're going to run underground so as soon as we know when they're coming, we can dig the trench for the conduit. They may have to put up a new pole though so determining that will be the first step in that process. *sigh* They wouldn't come out to determine that until after we were all ready for wiring. Seems like they could save a little time by deciding that before now, but whatever.
The southern side of the house now has the eavy things and the trimwork. So I think they are all set to put the rest of the siding all around the house.
Now for the fun part - decorating.

I ordered this rose quilt for the master bedroom. It's a little girly but I told dh that I'd man it up a bit for him by putting solid blue sheets on the bed. lol I ordered the quilt, the tailored bedskirt and a couple of standard shams. I may end up ordering the matching curtains if the white ones that are packed away from my MIL won't match well.
I also decided on the accessories for the bathroom. The counter top on the sink is a blackish/grayish marbly color and the sink/toilet and bathtub are white and the towel racks are chrome. I decided to go with the black and chrome combination for the bath accessories. I love that $10/$30 coupon at BB&B. So far I have bought the wastebasket, toothbrush holder and soap pump and still need the soapdish. I also think that I'll go the whimsical route for the shower curtain.... right now I'm thinking penguins but I haven't found quite the one I like yet. I just feel like I need something fun in there for the kids.
Next purchase will be me picking out a ceiling fan fixture for our dining room. We thought we'd use the one that we now have in our bedroom but the new plan is to sell that one at our tagsale this fall and put in one where the fan blades are a shade as close as we can get to the woodwork in the house. Our existing one has really really dark maple colored blades. Doesn't that sound crazy and unfrugal to not use what we have?
