7/16 progress

Still a few more hours of worktime for the crew today but today's progress includes
the completion of the septic system - we are now awaiting for an inspector to come from the State to give it the A-OK before it can be covered up.
The walkout basement is currently a fall out basement. It's got about a foot drop off when you walk out the door - I'm not quite sure why as I wasn't home when the guy was done but dh suspects that they must be planning on putting down some dirt that isn't pure sand back there.
AND you can now go downstairs into the basement from the upstairs (You can't even do that from our apartment right now - believe me it stinks big time to have to go outside to go downstairs, especially in the winter with a big ole load of laundry). They even put a backing on the stairs, at the request of my 5 year old... open back stairs freak him out!!
Work continues to get the house ready for the chimney installation.
and the burner guy will be here again tonight after work to hook the water tank up to the boiler. He's going to get as much other stuff done tonight, since he's leaving Friday for a week's vacation.
Meanwhile, we're at a standstill with the electric company. We are going to run the wires underground from the pole to the house but the electric company can't do anything until the electrician guy comes and gets the house ready to have the lines run to it. At that point is when we get put on the schedule for them to run the lines to the house and it's generally a 5 to 10 day window, depending on how busy they are. *crossing fingers for no more storms to do more damage to poles and lines*
And no better news on getting us off of dialup either. The phone company says a minimum of 4-5 months if they even decide to run it down this way. it's only 3 freaking miles or so down the road. :hectic1: and our internet provider says no plans for an expansion this way for at least 2 or 3 years. I just have to quickly decide if we should go with the cable/internet bundle deal with the cable company or just hang in here a little longer with dialup and go to Direct TV instead. Decisions decisions! I HATE our cable company and how it goes out whenever there's a big storm so I've got to decide if I want slow but dependable vs fast but iffy on a stormy day.. Guess which way I'm leaning towards. lol
