an update on construction

We have a basement!! They poured the walls earlier this week and then yesterday they poured the floor. The builder still has to build the wooden wall on the back side where the walkout door will be and get this, he has to have that part done this week because

THE HOUSE SHOULD BE SET ON THURSDAY, the 10th!! They will be bringing it in on big trucks and we'll have a huge crane truck here to lift the 2 pieces together and onto the foundation. My boys are going to be in complete awe, I think. LOL All 3 boys will be awe, since dh is taking the day off from work. Like he says 'how often does anyone get to watch their house being lifted up by a crane?'

They'll still have a lot of work to do, like building the chimney and 'buttoning it up' and doing the plumbing and electrical work so it's still going to be a little while before moving day, but we're still making progress.

We put down a deposit on a new refrigerator last weekend and the store is holding it for us until we get the go-ahead to move it on into the new house.
