Getting a little closer!!!

We had our closing today!! yippee!!
Since we are living in an existing house on the land that the new house will be going on, federal law says that the bank has to give us a 3 day Right of Rescission. Basically it's a protection thing for us, because it gives us 3 days to change our mind and rescind our decision.
We know that we're not going to change our minds, so it's definitely happening.
My next thing on the checklist is to see if the builder can give us an approximate delivery date, so I can decide how soon and how much I can start packing.
But yee haw!! A house should be here soon!!!

 |  Thats great news Lesley! How far away is the new house going to be from your existing house? Is packing really nessesary or could you just tote stuff over? If I did not have to actually pack and could just throw things in boxes and walk them over to the new house and put in place that is what I would do. That way you do not have to invest or hunt down lots of boxes, packing tape, newspapers (although if you DD you know where to get papers for free!) etc. |

| |  The new house is less than 50 feet away from our kitchen door!! LOL So packing is probably not the right word.. Like you said, we'll be able to walk things over and then put them right away. But stuff like our books and movies and some stuff that we have but won't really need to be using in the next few weeks, I want to get boxed up and ready to go over. DH is going to bring me home some boxes from work and I'm also going to be purging some stuff to put into a tag sale later on this summer. |
