I don't think I'll actually be able to partially relax until after we've signed the papers at the bank and we know that it's in the hands of the builder, and then fully relax once we can start moving things into our new house.
So the cliff notes is that we're taking down the old barn and a new 3 bedroom modular home with a full walk out basement will be in its place.
Every day seems like a new thing with it. We're just waiting for the bank to call us with the closing date but meanwhile I've got a meeting with the building inspector tomorrow morning to make sure we've got everything lined up that we need.
Saturday when the builder brought the plans over and at a quick glance I noticed that the position of the stairwell was off. WAY off. The plans showed it off to the right a bit and taking space out of one of the bedrooms, leaving it absolutely tiny. So tiny you couldn't even call it a bedroom, just a speck. Not acceptable. So the builder called the the modular company's engineers and apparently as it was originally drawn, it doesn't meet New Hampshire building codes and to make it so it would meet their easiest way was to make that bedroom smaller. The problem was something with the size of the landing of the stairs in the basement.
After hashing it through, the builder and the engineer determined that the best way (not necessarily the easiest) would be to add an additional foot and a half to the width of the house, and the builder is going to meet us 1/2 way with the difference in the cost for the difference. I need to discuss it with dh when he comes home tonight, but if we go with it, we've just gained 63 square feet to our new house for an additional $1500 or so. or if you count square feet in the basement too, then 126 square feet.
Builder says that we should be able to have this thing up and set by the end of June, but man, that seems like it's an awfully short amount of time for a crew to build a house, but it also seems like forever until we can get outta here and into a brand new house.

| | I am sure things will work out for the best and you will be in your new home soon enough. End of June seems not to far away but I have heard that Manfactured homes can be build pretty fast. |
