Number Obsessions: Vigilent Tracking & a Running Total

Posted 09-24-2007 at 08:04:28 PM by Ani
I am obsessed with numbers. In fact, that was one of the first things that attracted me to couponing. On top of that, there are the lists. Oh yes, there are lists! What stores to shop at, what deals to get at those stores, what coupons you have, what coupons you want, what you got while shopping, what you spent, what you would have spent without coupons...it's really and truly and OCD girl's paradise.

So naturally, since I began couponing, I've kept a running total of everything I've...

Frugalness!

Posted 09-24-2007 at 03:25:34 PM by BargainSeeker
Much is written and said about this topic. Sometimes I feel almost as if this were a personal thing, in that most people have their own ideas about frugality and how they go about it. Hey, if what they do works, and they do save money, fine. Me, I like to also think green, save the environment, recycle, repair, reuse, etc. You get the picture. You hear this over and over, but when put into practice, you kind of really understand and feel good about yourself. I know I do. I'll talk more about...

Watching my pennies!

Posted 09-24-2007 at 02:57:53 PM by BargainSeeker
On the first day of the work week, as soon as I arrive to the office, I go on line to monitor my $$. It's sort of a fun thing I do, which I use as a mental device, if you will, to keep me on the savings path, or if I feel derailed, to put me back on track. It takes me a few minutes but I am consistent with this mode of monitoring my funds, always thinking, "This is for my retirement, this is for my retirement!"

While saving for retirement, I still manage to save for other...

Pilots

Posted 09-24-2007 at 02:42:10 PM by BargainSeeker
So Friday evening I'm flicking thru the channels on the TV, in search of something that would not bore me. I bore very easily with TV. I go to OnDemand and see the pilots of several new shows were on, so I started watching. The first I watched was Journeyman, starring an actor named Kevin McKidd I believe his name is, (I'm bad with names!) I enjoyed watching this actor on an HBO series called Rome. Loved this series. The premise of Journeyman kind of reminded me of Quantum Leap and Time Tunnel....

The electronic chorus

My cell phone battery started chirping around 6:20 am so I just got up early, tidied up in the kitchen, put a load of clothes in the dryer and another in the washer.

Right at 7 am all the alarm clocks started going off...DS and DD alternating 'BOOP-boop, BOOP-boop, BOOP-boop, add in DH's bzzz, bzzz, bzzz and just then the dryer buzzed, BZZZZZ.

I think tomorrow morning I will open the windows and listen to the birds instead.
