The Greatest Gift of All



I heard that someone actually tried to calculate how much it would cost to give the gifts named in the classic Christmas song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas." The grand total came to about $15,000.

Some items were affordable, like a partridge in a pear tree for $34.99. Six turtledoves will run you somewhere around $50. Six geese-a-laying will cost around $150.

But the price soars when you add 11 pipers piping....

Don't know when this happened, but today Bill told me he went to pick up Smart Balance - our healthy choice for a healthy fat in our diet - and as it turned out, the price was so awful, he brought home a 99c substitute. It's not gonna kill us; but it's not gonna taste like our SmartBalance either and the fats aren't what we look for.

I'm staying up way past my bedtime just looking for SmartBalance coupons. I found one for 75c. Something tells me that's not going to go very far....

This was about the time I stumbled upon this website about three years ago. Oh boy, how it changed my life! Not only was I able to save so much money, I was also able to give away so much stuff to friends and relatives.

I'm hoping to continue saving and sharing for years to come! Cheers!

This is new to me. Couponing is new to me. Blogging is new to me. I have a lot of challenges in my life (as I suspect we all do). I feel if I learn to do this I can do it sitting in my comfy chair, except for getting around to rest homes and other places for collecting coupons on Mondays? And if, er when, we are successful, it ought to be fun!

Like most nights after dinner, I stopped by the CVS near me because I'm in my normal hunt for clearance items. As soon as I walked in, I saw a lady with tons of Tide in her cart checking out at the self check out(SCO). I thought to myself, "Is there a good deal on Tide that I missed? Hmmm, I can't recall any"

So I go merrily scan away a few things here and there and when I was finally ready to pay, this lady is still at the SCO. So I watched while she was scanning her coupons....
