Meet Holly Golightly our new Sheltie puppy

She was my Christmas present to me from my loving DH. We brought her home yesterday and she already has melted my heart.
We just call her Holly. A fitting name since she was a Christmas gift.
We got all her supplies ready before she came home thanks to everyone's good advice here at HCW. I have her appointment for the vet on the 10th set up and look forward to my adventures in raising a puppy. Much like raising a child there is a lot of responsibility.
Chicky my Siberian Husky has taken well to the new puppy but she takes all critters well from cats to dogs and usually tries to mother them (well...all except racoons and guinea pigs)
Shay-Shay my rat terrier on the other hand has been hiding under the couch and giving me the evil eye. Although Holly and Shay-Shay were caught sort of playing peek-a-boo under the couch today. LOL
The kids love her of course!

Awww!! Your sheltie and my sheltie should totally get together and herd each other!
Here is a picture of mine!
Though mine acts like an old lady.
She's only 3 and a half years old! But they are smart dogs!
And invest in a good vacuum cleaner if you don't have one already. Ours sheds about twice a year, once in late fall and in spring. I have tumbleweeds of sheltie hair rolling across my floor, no matter how often I vacuum! And I clean out my vacuum constantly because the hair will get stuck in it. I love my pup but I don't love all the sheltie hair that gets on all my clothes!

Krystalily your sheltie is adorable! I love this breed. I grew up with a Sheltie when I was a kid. She was great. And since I have a husky you can bet your bottom I have a Dyson vacume cleaner. As she sheds the same way twice a year.
Holly is doing great. Our Husky is really showing her the ropes on how to go outside. She is sort of mothering her a bit and that is a good thing.Posted 12-29-2008 at 05:44:41 AM by queenofthehivemomof5
