LWFG Hangover?

Okay, so I barely made it to the store last night, 'cause I just wasn't feeling that great. However, knowing that I still had coupons for the LWFG deal and yesterday was the last day, I decided to go anyway (don't worry, I don't have Swine Flu
)
It took me longer than usual, because I only had part of my purchase planned. I was planning on getting 5 more Electrasol, 3 Gatorade, 2 Keebler Cookies, and a Scrubbing Bubbles. That meant I had about $13 left to spend with as little oop as possible. However, they were out of the Scrubbing Bubbles (I don't know why I didn't get a rain check), so this brought me to about $15 to spend. After searching through my coupons many times, I was able to find enough - all with coupons. I'm not going to post it again, since I put it on yesterday's blog.
I was a bit disappointed when I looked at the total and saw it was $9.04, but thought it wasn't too bad since I wasn't thinking 100% clearly. BUT the checker hadn't doubled my coupons. So I was feeling better about $7.04 oop (still not my best, but $2 is $2). I think I did a good job of hiding my suprise when she doubled ALL of my coupons!!! So my total oop ended up being $2.04! Definitely worth the trip across town, in spite of how I was feeling.
Today, however, I'm still feeling yucky. No fever or cough, just yucky. That's the reason for my title. Maybe my body knew the end of the promotion was coming and it could only hold on for so long
Whatever it is, I am glad to have a day off from one or more trips to the store. Besides . . . it gave me a chance to strategize my Albertson's purchases this weekend
My parents are coming into town and I am going to be my usual opportunist self and bring them with me to help me cut down on the number of trips. I literally have 20 transactions planned. I know it seems crazy, but I have lots of coupons and want to take advantage of the double coupons. There are 2 Albies in our town so we'll stop at each one both on the way to church and then on the way home. Then I'll do the rest of the transactions on Monday and Tuesday. I haven't told them (or DH) about my plan, but I'm sure they'll be as excited as me about it, right?

If your parents are anything like mine, they'll just go along and marvel at it all!
I know the "hangover" feeling when a big sale ends--it's a lot of hard work! It's sad to see the savings end, but almost a relief to be done!
Hope you feel better for the weekend and have a great time with your family!Posted 05-07-2009 at 06:51:49 PM by thl
