I love blogging!

Posted 04-16-2009 at 11:20:46 PM by pinkproverbs

I'm really enjoying blogging. I was hesitant at first, because I've journaled online before and I always tend to go on and on and on. I was afraid of doing the same thing, but have found that it's a great way to journal while staying more focused.

So here's how the rest of my day went ... GREAT! After MOPS we came home and had lunch and then David and I went outside for him to play on the new play structure (a total blessing from my best friend's in-laws-FREE). It's so great, because I can be outside with him while he's climbing and sliding and climbing and sliding and climbing and sliding (okay, you get the point, he's 2 so he just keeps going!), but I don't have to be RIGHT THERE.

My friend Glenda came over for a visit and she stayed through David's nap. She wanted to know how I'm saving/making so much money with coupons, so I showed her the HCW website and explained the basics. I'm going to be taking her shopping with me the next time I go.

After Glenda left, David and I went back outside (I love this weather!). He played on his slide a little more and then I broke out the egg cartons and a pile of seeds I had purchased last year for a garden that never happened. I only had four egg cartons at the time, so we planted lettuce, cherry tomatoes, carrots, and cucumbers. The makings of a yummy salad. At the time I was planning on doing container gardening, but when I looked at the plot of land I had planned to use last year for my garden, it was looking pretty good. So I've decided to go for it and actually plant a garden. I'm creating borders with pavers I've had since we moved in here (FREE on Craigslist!). David had a great time "helping" me move the pavers from the pile to the garden.

We'll continue to work on it through the weekend since the weather is going to be so nice. There are many possible obstacles that come into place when it comes to Central Oregon gardening. The Climate is one and deer is the other. I need to build a barrier to keep the deer out. It's against the house and fenced on two other sides, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Okay, so after talking about how I don't ramble on my blog, here I am rambling. That said, there's one more event in my day.

I went to Albertson's tonight for the first time in a couple of weeks. They finally had a couple of reasons to shop there. Honestly, I hate that Safeway has had the great deals lately. I love my Albertson's and the people who work there. ANYWAY . . . So here's what I got:

1 Beechnut Breakfast Cereal $1.79
1 Carnation Instant Breakfast $5.99
4 40-ct Cone Coffee Filters $4.00
Original Total $11.78

Then the coupons . . .
$1/1 Beechnut = $10.78
$1/1 Coffee Filters = $6.78
Total OOP $6.78

I also got a CAT for free bread, no strings attached! I decided to go and buy it right away and picked out a French Baguette - yummy!

I need to find coupons for Carnation Instant Breakfast, 'cause DH really likes it. He also wants me to find coupons for any kind of protein shake for before he goes to workout.

Okay, I think I'm done sharing about my day. I love blogging!

    Hey Pink,

I emailed carnation and let them know that both my children drink carnation daily and love it. They emailed me back and said that they would be mailing out some coupons to me in about 10 days or so. It's alway worth it to let companies know you like their product.

    Have a great day!!
