Sucess and Defeat all in one day

Posted 04-11-2009 at 04:46:11 PM by pinkproverbs

So as far as the world of coupons goes, I had a sucessful day. I was able to find plenty of the Pledge Multi-surface cleaners and I got all 10 of my colgate toothpastes for a grand total of 40cents. I also picked up a couple more 5lb bags of sugar, 'cause they're still on sale and I have coupons to use making them just a little over a dollar. Things weren't too hectic through the checkout, which is always nice when I am at a store that I'm not familiar with. That's the sucess . . .

I went to two different stores and after doing so, I went out to my car only to hear the click click click as I turned the key. The first time, although an inconvenience, I wasn't concerned, because I had left the radio on, so there was a reason for the battery to not be working. However, at the second store, I made sure all lights, radio, etc. were turned off, but again click click click. Luckily both times I was able to find amazingly generous people who had jumper cables or found someone for me who had jumper cables. Normally, I would have just gone and found someone, but I had Cassie with me and I couldn't leave her in the car (obviously). My defeat was confirmed when I got home, turned the car off, then immediately turned the car on (or tried) and click click click.

Luckily we have a second vehicle that we can jump the car in order to get it to Shucks so as to buy a new battery. The rest of the family is sleeping right now, but soon I'm going to need to wake up DH to tell him the "wonderful news". It's a good thing I saved $126.59, 'cause it's going to cost about that to get a new battery.

The thing I'm most thankful for is the fact that I drove my car today, instead of taking DH's truck. Who knows where we would have been when the battery suddenly didn't work.

Maybe it's only corroded cables and not a dead battery.
    LOL, here's hoping at least.

Which sugar is on sale, at which store?

Hope the battery thing works out...that has happened to me before also. It's a good thing you did just buy a bunch of frozen stuff. Little blessing.
