Subscribing to threads

When you post to a thread, I believe that by default the system subscribes you to that thread.
You can subscribe to threads without posting. To do so, go to the thread to which you want to subscribe. At the top of the thread is a menu of "Thread Tools". Select "Subscribe to this Thread" then choose your subscription options and click "Add Subscription".
If you do not want to be subscribed to everything, you have to do two things.
First, shut off the option that automatically subscribes you to threads to which you have posted: Under User CP, go to "Edit Options". There is a section for "Default Subscription Mode". Change that dropdown to "Do not subscribe".
Second, unsubscribe to all the threads to which you've already been subscribed: Under User CP, go to "List Subscriptions". Click the checkbox to the right of each thread. At the bottom of the window, in the "Selected Threads:" dropdown box, select "No email notification" then click the "Go" button.
