I used to frequent cxxxxxx.com and someone in one of my groups mentioned HCW, I came over to this site and the rest is history! I had to leave work 4 months into my second pregnancy due to medical reasons. DH had to pick up the slack by taking an all day and sometimes all evening job. Since doing that I have not been able to go back to work since I would only make enough money to cover the cost of daycare, so not really worth it. I know there are a ton of other moms out there in the same boat. On the plus side, I am able to go back to school full time. Still we struggled to get by. HCW has changed my life. I started with CVS which IMO is perhaps the easiest and quickest rewarding store to shop at. In my first 3 months (january to march) I spent $85 (according to the receipt which includes triple bucks so not sure the actual amount) and saved over $1500. At ONE store!
We are able to get the products that we love (fusion and venus razors) and products that we need (shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash) and try new products altogether!
We switched to cloth diapers back in December since we have 2 little ones in diapers right now. DH has NEVER liked the cloth but with coupons the most I have paid for a pack of diapers was $4 and that was because I read the price on the shelf wrong and got the wrong ones. So I use cloth diapers on the babies when I am with them all day and when I am at school he can use the disposables. Some people need an extra paycheck to pay for diapers, but they're not even a part of our budget anymore.
Coupons have allowed us to eliminate a ton of things from our budget. Mostly baby, health and beauty, and cleaning supplies, but that was a big chunk of change every month.
Right now we qualify for food stamps, but I still use coupons and stockpile just because I know we might not qualify the next time and I want to have a good base. Besides, I have gotten to a point where I can't buy ANYTHING w/o a coupon, and I hate it when I have to.
My first post is kind of long, but I just wanted to give a little bit of background before I started posting all the great deals I have gotten!

| | congratulations on all of your savings. It is great to be able to stockpile the things you need and want and not have to worry about if you will be able to buy them or not. |

| | Good job on your savings at CVS! You are off to a great start! It is important to prepare for what may come. And what better way than to have a stockpile! Keep up the good work! |

| | Help me understand how to save at CVS. When I go in the store, it appears to be more expensive than anywhere else in town. When I have a coupon, it appears to only bring an item down to the regular Wal Mart price. Help me step it up a notch. What am I doing wrong? |

| | Your post inspires me. I try to keep my coupons and stockpile, but then I just get too busy and buy at full price because I am just too rushed. Planning is a huge part and I just need to get in front of it :) |

| | I am so inspired by this website. I am still awed that you can actually make money by couponing. |
