Why is it so hard to scan a coupon?

I had a bad time today when I went to a local Kmart. I got 4 Tru Blend foundations and gave the guy 2 B1G1 coupons. he scanned them and he told me they weren't the right product. I went to the customer service desk to see if they could scan them again. This guy told me that it wouldn't work either. He called some other cashier and I told them that just the other day I went to a Kmart in another nearby town and they were able to use the coupons and I only paid the sales tax. They asked me how it was done and I told them, "I don't know." The girl had a hard time then, but she finally got it to work. The lady told the young guy to scan the coupons again to see if it would work and he said, "for what? its not gonna go through!" Then she said, "so at least they can see that we're trying." Then they asked if I had the receipt from the other store so they could see how it was done, but I didn't. They couldn't scan it, I said, "thank you" and I just left, frustrated.

First of all it is Kmart. So that is a given right there that things are not going to work.
But they have to look at the screen when they scan it. It asks then for a price right after they scan it. It is not going to do it for them. Which is what most coupons do when it says $ off instead of BOGO or FREE. They are just idiots and don't know how to read. I had this happen on the last covergirl BOGO they had and I had BOGO coupons for it. They would not do it at the Kmart by me but when I went to the Sears Ess. down the street the woman knew how to do it.Posted 08-14-2008 at 04:17:30 PM by cheap-o
