determined to save and build a stockpile-8/22/08

Posted 08-23-2008 at 01:25:51 AM by nmeadows0101
since I have started 5 classes this wk and the kids go back monday and hubby has some over time( used to pay bills) .
I am trying to spend OOP less than 80.00 ( key word trying).
I would like to get to where I could do like Jane4girls does on 800.00, but that is aways off yet.
it is a little out of my to go to lowes food but not much. and then when I go to lincolton to pay a bill , I can go by HT and bi-lo's. If it is really good , I can go by bi-lo's in conover ( they are a little better than the other one).
But if I can keep up with deals and sales , I think I can do pretty good.
It is going to take some trading and planning( saving on gas) also.
I am going to make this work. I have done pretty good this wk so far.
I wanted to go by target and wag. , but I have not yet.
I am thinking so this post may carrying on for a little while

I am trying to keep this on a excel to keep up with it, is there another way to do or easier way?
I have it on there for the mo. but this is for just this wk. that I have posted. Most of this is drinks, I dread it when I go to buy meats bc then the OOP will be higher.

I keep track of my spending on an excel sheet as well. I also keep a comparison sheet of the items that I don't buy as often so that I have an idea of where to buy them the cheapest.

I would also love to be able to do as well as Jane4girls, but that is impossible because my husband would have a fit if we didn't always have Coke, bottled water, meat, junk food, name brand cereal, etc. on hand. Even so, I am happy that my grocery bill per month is less than half of what it used to be now that I regulary watch sales and use coupons. :)

how do you do a spreadsheet of the items like? type in each 1 and the store and cost?
I would think that would take lots of time and hard to keep up with?
I know, my hubby wants meats and some name brands-
hubby eats meats and pototoes mostly and dr. pepper, etc. that is why at the top of my wish list it is in bold.
I know I am going to have to buy a pile of meats soon. I usually buy weekly. My teen is the worst - he eats so much more than I can buy at a time or find on sale usually.
but I am trying.
Thurs or fri. one , I stopped by HT bc they had edge shaving cream on sale . I stopped and the kids were with me and of course he saw me get it.
When we got the house , I was putting things up and only found 1 edge( I only got 2 bc I had 2 q's) well he took 1 . hb got the other 1.
I spent about 80.00 this wk. I know that it is going to take time but hopefully before hoildays , I will have a good start on things.
