"CVS"capades continued!

Posted 01-27-2008 at 04:43:01 PM by mom8w

The scanner at the front of CVS caught my eye at the beginning of January, and to my delight, by scanning my Extra Care card, I was able to obtain coupons, often for 4/20! These proved to be what got me hooked, as I could combine my diaper and milk purchases for the week, and come out with a better price than Wal-Mart, and at the same time up my total quarterly spending! Woo-hoo! Then, I went through a short period of no coupons. Not at the scanner, not at the checkstand...nada. Bummer.

I'm getting coupons again, but now, I only receive 10/50's and 2 or 3 on CVS brand purchases, along with an occasional product coupon. I guess they want me to spend more at one time. Even my email printable was 10/50. Yikes.

Not all bad, however, because while I still had a couple of 4/20's, I was able to complete a couple of weekly deals, bumping up my reserve of ECB's. Last week's M&M deal, P&G, and Mennen 24/7 helped me to increase this reserve, and later in the week, I was able to roll some of those same ECB's with more M&M's and deoderant. The kids are amazed at the quantity of M&M's! And I still have a good supply of 10/50 coupons to work with.

With February looming, I'm looking forward to improving at this, and hopefully seeing some results in the household budget decreasing in the realm of grocery purchases.
