I got off my butt last week and gathered up all my coupons loaded them into my binders and took my daughter on a mini road trip up HWY 75N to hit a few Bi-Lo's. Since they were tripling up to .99c and had hardly any limits I couldn't resist!

We left at 9am Friday and didn't get back home until 1am Saturday. I sat down this morning to add up my totals and am shocked at my final tally!

Subtotal: $1,608.89
Savings: $1,616.96
OOP: -$8.07

Yes, I made money off the trip! It happened at one store where I had two buggies full of stuff. Separated so that I wouldn't break the register with my giant stack of coupons. When I got to the register the cashier said she would just ring them up together. I suggested that she keep it separate cause I didn't want to overload the register. She laughed and said that wouldn't happen, she had rung up orders bigger than mine and had no problems. I said, but I have a ton of coupons. It didn't matter she insisted on ringing both together. So, of course halfway through the register stops taking coupons.

Both managers come over and we talked about it for few minutes. One manager went to call corporate to find out what to do. When he came back he said we will just cash out this order and total up the remaining coupons and give you the cash back. I was just wanting to get out of there (I always get embarrassed when this kind of thing happens) so I said OK.

When we cashed out the register my total was $170.XX and my remaining coupon total was $202.XX (not sure of the change). So they hand me $32.XX and I asked what it was for. They said this is what was left over. I said, I don't want any $$ back! We actually argued this for awhile! The manager did ask how that could happen and I explained that the register knows how much to triple the coupons for (up to the amount of the item), but they totaled the coupons up to the full amount. After going back and forth over who should keep the money, the manager finally said he had no place to put it without messing up his totals. I felt so guilty walking out of there. The cashier kept telling me it wasn't my fault it was theirs since it was Bi-Lo's register that messed up.

All told I went to two stores and at each my daughter and I did 3 orders apiece (12 orders total). Here is a breakdown of what i got:
