Life!!

Posted 01-20-2009 at 10:07:51 PM by melodyjg

Went to get my Mammogram here a couple of weeks ago...Got a phone call asking me to go in and have an Ultrasound on the right!! This happened the same way about 4 years ago and it was nothing more than a precaution and turned out good.....But today has made me realize that you just never know when life has one of those curveballs ready to throw at ya!!! I am praying that it will be nothing more than what it was before...If you have a spare few seconds I would gladly accept more prayers that this will all be precautionary.

It also makes me remember a time that I was told a story at the hairdressers....It makes me cry everytime so be forewarned its a tearjerker...I was sitting there getting my haircut and off to my left there is a woman getting her haircut....It was pretty obvious that she was a cancer survivor, But she was sooo Happy...Smile on her face and just totally into talking with her hairdresser! Since she and I were the only ones there and our hairdressers we all got to talking and she stated that she was a 3 x's cancer survivor...First Breast and then Lymph Nodes and then here just recently they discovered it in her brain. But when she realized that they wanted her to do Chemotherapy a 3rd time she didn't want to so she went home to decide whether she was going to or not... And in the course of the next day she started in her words bargaining with God, saying I don't want to do this....I'm tired!! But if you really want me to do this...Send me a sign!!! Have someone bring me a Red Rose before the end of the day and if you do that I won't argue....I'll get it done!!! So she goes on about her day resting, cleaning, bit of cooking and she said about 3 or 4 in the afternoon the doorbell rang, And so she goes to answer the door and in the doorway is her best friend with two dozen red roses!!! Her best friend said she was on the way home and was told go buy roses for her friend and she did it!!! That story everytime I think of it just brings tears to my eyes...I do not know what happened to this woman, I have not run into her again but do you know she said before she left that she would not change a thing....If she had had a choice knowing what she knew she would choose the cancer because what she had gone through had made her kids the people they are today!!!

I will post what I find out on Friday Morning! Thanks for the good thoughts!

After finishing nursing my 2nd child I went for a check-up and the doctor found a lump and asked how long it had been there. Well I remembered exactly when I found it as I was in the tub and remember thinking it was nothing probably just a clogged duct....it had been months. Well she was very concerned and sent me right then and there for a mamogram and ultra sound and to a surgeon. Within a week I was having it removed about the size of a golf ball. Turns out it was nothing but the surgeon told me that it was the type that left alone would turn to cancer. Now I don't really know if that is true or not but I know I was scared. They told me that I would have trouble after the surgery moving my arm to comb my hair or get dressed for a little while. That along with the thoughts of loosing my hair to chemo frightened me trememdously (you have to know I always expect the worst) so I went and had my hair cut to my ears (it was to my hips longest it had ever been). Well long story short no cancer and no chemo= Thank goodness plus no limited movement of my arm. Moral of my story is don't go thinking the worst and making rash decisions and go whacking your hair off.

I am hoping your story turns out on the happy side. I will say a little prayer for you.
