And the Lord was with Joseph and he became a successful man, and he was in the house of his Egyptian master.

And the Lord was with Joseph and he became a successful man, and he was in the house of his Egyptian master.
-- Genesis 39:2
Even as a slave, Joseph rose to a position of leadership in his master’s household. Why? Because Joseph never gave up on the dream that God had given him.
Now remember, Joseph was just a 17-year-old boy when his brothers sold him into slavery. It would have been so easy for him to simply have forgotten his dream. But Joseph didn’t forget… even though it was impossible for him to understand all that had led to the situation he was in.
So how did Joseph manage the hardship? The Scripture says he kept trusting God and let God use him. He was diligent. He was industrious. He was conscientious. He was obedient. And he was reliable. What an amazing testimony!
Now, I need to ask you some tough questions. What kind of servant are you? Are you a fair-weather Christian? Would you quit following God if you couldn’t make sense of what he was doing? Would you stop serving the Lord if someone insulted or mistreated you? Would you just give up?
I know these are tough questions. But you see, there is a lot at stake if we walk away from our dreams. Others are watching to see if our faith is real! Do you want to be like Joseph? If so, don’t allow your circumstances to prevent you from living for God!
And when life bottoms out and you don’t understand why God has placed you where he has, remain faithful. Stay open to what God is doing. Be obedient and stay hopeful
