By a single vote, the Connecticut Supreme Court today became the third state high court – after Massachusetts and California – to impose so-called "same-sex marriage" on its citizenry. Circumventing the legislative and executive branches, the will of the people and the constitutionally-mandated process for lawmaking, the court ruled in that the state cannot deny marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Read the CT Supreme Court's 4-3 decision in Kerrigan v. Connecticut Department of Public Health.
A majority of one judge on the Connecticut Supreme Court created a right to same-sex marriage. A majority of one judge on the California Supreme Court also ushered in same-sex marriage against the clear will of the people. The people of California have to pass a constitutional amendment in November to re-establish marriage as one man and one woman! Florida and Arizona are also voting on amendments to guard against judicial activists who would redefine marriage with the stroke of a pen.
It was the judges, not the people, who opened the floodgates to abortion. It was the judges, not the people, who ruled against the Pledge of Allegiance, the Ten Commandments, and prayer. The kind of judges our next President will appoint will affect America for several decades.
We could not have a more important election about America's future than the one we will face this year. We already have the most liberal, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual Congress in the history of America. We cannot afford to unleash an unbridled leftist, secular, anti-religious agenda on America and our children. Economic problems are only a symptom of this Nation's problem; they are not the cause. We are calling Americans to stand together and return to this Nation's core values.

Just a note: I ain't doin' the politics @ HCW. If you reply to this as a debate, you'll be prayed for, but not responded to.
I hate NO ONE! I disagree with same-sex marriage, abortion & many other things going on in this world. I believe that this world is coming to Jesus Christ! I wish people would get their heads out of their newspapers & stock reports & into the Bible & there, they can see the future coming quicker than any satellite could deliver it to their TV screeens!
This election...
I believe that the economic woes of this country is driving this election, when the economy is merely a symptom of an underlying disease for which we need the Physician that is Christ Jesus!
I'm voting for McCain, but no matter who wins, they will have my prayerful support whether I agree with them or not. Because Jesus didn't just die for ME!
Ya know, it's exciting for a Christian to watch these events unfold if they can really let themselves embrace it. I'm not all the way there yet though. I guess I'm sad that I haven't been the best witness for a God that forgave me by making the ultimate sacrifice. I know a lot of people that aren't ready for these events to unfold & it's just hard to accept that I'm a lousy witness for such an AWESOME God at times.
Do you picture me in a purple robe, embracing a man-sized cross & standing on a street corner with a sign that says, "THE END IS NEAR?"
That's not me, but I might know them. LOL!
However, I do sincerely believe that the end is near.
And I find myself looking up a lot more these days...Posted 10-11-2008 at 09:23:48 AM by meggers

I am with you! It is hard to be a Christian these days. It seems that people have learned to twist the love of God into hate. It is love for people and not wanting to see them lost that leads us to speak out about the things that God's word tells us are wrong. Well I will pray that God blesses you and helps you to be all that you -and He- want you to be.
I also agree with you about supporting our new president. I will pray for President Obama as well. Even if he is not who we voted for, God can still use this situation for good. He works in mysterious ways. Anyway, I enjoyed reading your blog post. Take care!
Blessings,
