Day 17 (supplemental)

One day I will learn not to make stupid comments like "We have no plans to leave the house today" or "If a nickel crosses my fingers, I'll let you know".
Well, we did leave the house, and exactly 1000 nickels crossed my fingers.
On Friday DS' hand was run over by a vacuum cleaner. Don't ask - these things seem to happen to boys. Just suffice it to say that it was not the vacuumer's fault (this didn't happen at home). Anyhoo, the hand looked like it had a scrape about the size of a quarter right after the incident so I applied a bandaid. When I changed the band-aid on Saturday, the area looked like a second-degree burn and was (sorry, weak stomachs out there) oozing. We immediately took him to a walk-in clinic to have it checked. The co-pay was $50. Me and my nickels
